Never saw them. You? (their practice location is too far for us, so I did not check them out)

NU and Valeo have played different teams this fall, but the teams they were playing when I watched were about equal in style, skill, speed, etc. I found NU to be much more technical, faster, better ball movement, many two-footed players, and more skilled than what I saw from Valeo. Valeo has one or 2 good players, but the passing was not with purpose, little aggression, and too many support players (large roster too). NU has a higher concentration of excellent players, but they also have a few average players that allow the level of play to be lowered once in a while. I did speak to an NU parent about the team and she was quite nice.

I saw WUP play once a few months ago. They remind me a bit of NU, but I would bet that NU would beat WUP at this point.

Disclosure: I am neither a NU or WUP parent. I have nothing against anyone at Valeo, nor do I know anyone at that club. I am seeking out a new club and doing some research with my kid. That is all.

      Thank you Newton Dad!

NU must be gifted. I am surprised bigger clubs are not after their players.

Opposite, NU is after big clubs players. 1/3 the price ,practices 3x a week and locally.

          Can't beat that .

            "Proven" versus "unproven"
"locally" is a relative term... local to where?

Local to me means that they do not have multiple practice sites like NEFC and Bolts. One team -- one site. Moreover, their home field is in the same town as their practice.

                No surprises.

I think you could add Valeo to have "local" practices and games

Does anyone know if the Bulldogs practice in only one site? Are their home games in the same area as their practices?

NEFC Boys Top teams practice at Forekicks, Marlborough. Multiple practice sites? Yes, there are different Regions but the top teams train and play in Marlborough.

Bulldogs have one in Newton and another one in sherburn/dover somewhere(only two,no 3).
Their home games at Acton/Boxboro HS .
Newton United locally means practices in NEWTON, I guess.
Valeo has a beautiful facilities in Newton , but they have kids from Greater Boston area. So ,it is not "local" for many kids.

the Newton United team would be seeded higher than Newton North in the state hs tournament

And? Did you decide on a club?

I meant per team do they practice in different locations during the week.

                          NEFC North
In the fall, Bu11 Metro North United will train on Tuesdays at Harvard (Cambridge) and on Wednesdays at The Edge (Bedford), both are state-of-the-art facilities with high quality artificial turf surfaces and are lighted.
Lead by Head Coach Kristian Gonzalez & MN Director of Coaching, Tom Mitch, Bu11 MN United will compete in the New England Premiership with matches at Citizens Bank Park in Lancaster and surrounding fields.

So they practice in Bedford and Cambridge and play in Lancaster. That to me is not a club that is "local". As a parent, it is easier for me to have my son play and have all practice in the same town. I understand why larger clubs can not. That said -- Valeo and NU make if very convenient for a parent with their locally sourced training and games

can anyone explain how Bolts are an "academy" club but are not even mentioned as viable?
