What teams? When? FC Mass is a top team in MA? Valeo won 8-2 against them. ?

Hammer won 3-2 against a town team this season. Making townies feel good isn't a sign of a top team.

Good forecasting! What about the Maple predictions?

They also lost by a single goal against WU. A top team does not get whacked 7-2 against strong teams. See the difference now?

Valeo also won against the Scorpions by only one goal. Will have to re-evaluate Valeo's standings as one of the top teams in the state.

Improvement and consistency is the key for U11 development.

In the meantime, NU seems to be blowing out each and every team thrown at them. They seemed to have gotten their act together.

I don't, actually, please explain how one game can completely re-define a team despite a mediocre body of work?

Hammer is a decent second tier team. They do not belong in the same conversation as WUP, NU, NEFC, etc.

A 1-1 draw with North Shore United? They have 1 win.

A loss to Strikers, and then they get pounded by FC Mass.

                      They beat Weymouth 3-2.

Does any of that happen if WUP, NU or NEFC played those same 4 games? No.

There is no shame in being a middle of the table team if your kids are developing. Don't let your ego get in the way of an intelligent conversation about soccer.

Valeo isn't that good. The Scorpions aren't that bad.

This is actually a very good discussion point. What is better for kids development. Keep it close and lose anyway or try to play an attractive style of play. I have to say my son's team has played both NEP and MAPLE teams and it seems like NEP teams do for the most part try and play out of the back as much as possible. To be fair some of the MAPLE teams do as well but many do not. Whenever the goalie gets the ball it's a punt up the field almost like an American football kick off. Not pretty at all.

I didn't see the games being referenced here but keeping a score close isn't anything to brag about. If it was close because the kids played well then OK, but if you're always keeping it close but not winning then maybe you have some work to do in regards to ball movement? Did you pepper the other team with shots and the other teams goalie just kept coming up big? I'm not trying to be critical but let's try and be a little objective on here from time to time. Kids aren't developing it they're just defending all the time!

You have way too much time on your hands. Your kid played one decent team and lost by a lot. Too bad.

good thing the agc aka scorekeeper for blue accepted the role as not once have scores been entered by sunday night. a couple of the others aren't much better. not that it matters at u11, but, really, it doesnt take more than 2 minutes to get it done.

Looks like NU won't even play the better teams in green. Only one tough game all fall and blown out. Ouch. Easy wins against div 3 teams and 7-2 loss against the big boys. Hmm. Not sure this is the best development game model.
