Better to assume Hammer will come to play.
Yes, that would be a very good thing if Hammer stepped up the play!

Once WUP plays NEFC Central, we will all get a better sense of them. They also need to play top MAPLE teams.

And NU should travel 1 mile to their home field to play Valeo instead of 1,200 to play in Mickey Mouse.

Hammer has a few decent players on their team. Valeo will win but maybe not a blow out.

Who is all? Why? So all of you can assume based on a result of a u11 game that you won't even see? So you can compare scores of common opponents to give you some merit or something to wine about? WUP or any other team has nothing to prove to any of you. Let the kids play and enjoy it while you can. Good luck to the parents and players that are putting in the effort on the field to get better. Maybe soon we will all be able to discuss a game for what it is and the play with in the game in stead of angling for best cyber team in MA.

Why are you reading this thread then? I suppose the thread is only meaningful when WUP is touted as the best team in MA. I think some of the posters were questioning whether WUP is really good or exceptionally good. No need to get defensive.

The previous poster was suggesting just that, playing on the field. Don't let those got soccer points go to your head, there are plenty of teams in MA that can give WU a game as FSA and Hammer have already proved.

Got Soccer has nothing to do with it. FSA is good. Hammer was not bad and did some good things. that is just my opinion from what I saw when watching the matches...not from checking scores online and comparing preseason tournament scores with MAPLE and NEP scores on a website.

Which is why posters want to see games between certain teams (assuming their kid is on one of them and they will SEE the game!)

Possible but the probability isn't too high.

I mention merit because you seem to think MApLe teams advance based on merit but there are no requirements to be a part of the league so it is all BS. At least NEP has club requirements and forces the clubs to enter each clubs top team. I am not saying that your team could not beat any of them and I am not a WUP parent or a NEFC parent. Based on your quick response, assumptions and posts from others here it is obvious why the top clubs are all gone from MAPLE.
The top clubs are gone because they feel a need to justify for the parents why a team coached by a non-licensed amateur coach just beat their Premier/ elite team. That's the main reason NEP was started. I do blame MAPLE for not being flexible enough to address some of the clubs concerns. The new club pass is a step in the right direction if clubs use it properly. Big if

How is the club pass a step in the right direction?

That may be a reason and it is somewhere in the vicinity of 8-10 in terms of priority. There are plenty of other threads on TS discussing that so feel free to argue the merits there.

Not a big fan of NEP but the initial justification as very reasonable: smaller sided games (6 v 6, then 8v8 till u12), more qualified coaching, less emphasis on winning more on dev. The less emphasis on winning hasn't panned out and although not intended, NEP has diluted the level of play in MA, at least through u13.

The way I see it that club passes would allow clubs with multiple teams the ability to have smaller roster and move kids from one team to another when needed. When kids have conflicts or when you have a couple of kids get sick. Smaller teams means more meaningful playing time for everyone. Unfortunately as with everything, people use the system for something other than it's original good intentions. 18 kids on a roster for a 8V8 game is never a good things! Teams can try and justify why they chose to do that but their true intentions are very transparent. That being said, I think it can be a positive thing for some clubs. The smaller single team clubs will be at a disadvantage but I still believe overall it's a step in the right direction.

More qualified coaching is supposed to result in higher quality teams. Guess they missed the boat on that one as well.
