I agree with most of this except the Western United team and the order of Valeo and NU--they are currently tied based on Stars (or NU higher based on GD). Where does the WU prediction come from? Have they played the other teams listed recently?

I don't think you can base anything on GD from a handful of matches. If the WU team is anything like last years team they will be very good. Lots of things change in a year. I do agree that since no one has seen them this year then the prediction is baseless. But then again your are also basing your judgement on the one tournament you went to this year. Of the teams we played last year the best were NEFC central, WU and Valeo. I have not seen WU this year though.

There's no basis to rank NU anywhere near the top 4. They beat two very weak teams at Stars and got crushed by the one good team they played (NEFC). Valeo at least played some good competition in their bracket, and had an honorable loss (3-1) to the very good NY team that pushed NEFC in the final. If WUP is anywhere close to NEFC as you say, then you have to also consider MPS Cavaliers, who apparently gave them a good game in the Aztec final.

Yes you were essentially equal with Valeo at Stars.
So when is everyone going to play each other? Maybe the teams should get together and duke it out in an informal tourney. And for gods sake when will Valeo and NU play each other? Maple?

No they weren't. Valeo players got an ear-full from coach after the game. Finishing was abysmal-post 6 times. This should have been similar to Bulldogs whom Scorps tied.

Rankings Update

OP here. Thanks for all the commentary. The point of this thread is to get a general starting point and then keep track of results throughout the year and make changes when warranted. I'll add in the MPS Cavaliers given the results reference by an earlier poster. One poster thought NU should be higher than Valeo, while another thought NU shouldn't even be in the mix, I think for now they are both seeded properly. WU did not participate in Stars, but they were very very strong last year, and deserve one of the top spots until proven otherwise.

NEFC Central definitely had a strong showing at the Stars cup...frankly, I was shocked to see they defeated the extremely talented Albertson team from NY. Does anyone know if the roster at the tournament was indeed the NEFC Central squad, or if it was some combination of the NEFC Central and other NEFC teams. Not trying to stir up controversy or take away anything from their performance, just wondering if that NEFC Central team really is that good...or if it was more a mix of some of their better players across a few teams.
