Yes, nice win for NEFC against NHPSA. Shows potential. Great that they have 2 decent dedicated goalies but neither is a field player. Will both be satisfied playing only 1 half? I heard they both came from teams where they played GK full time. Scorpions looked strong and unified as ever. New Blazers team has some work to do. Hope FO isn't too tough on them.

NEFC parent chiming in. We had a great weekend. It was the first time the boys played together, five from one team, four from another and then the rest from different places. The first game could have gone either way, they were a bit rattled in the second game and then came together by the third and a hard-fought match against NHPSA, who played very well. The new NEFC coach is teaching them a lot. They aren't there yet, but we are happy with the coach so far and the kids are starting to connect. Who knows what their record will be, and obviously we hope for wins, but talking to the parents so far there's a sense that the team will have a good season. If I could guess I would predict that they will improve gradually over the fall and do well in the spring. Overall, we enjoyed the tournament and commend MPS Crusaders, CSU and NHPSA for giving us some good games and for their sportsmanlike play. Looking forward to seeing you again!

The NEFC team actually was very good, despite what some of the scores suggest, and despite some of the posts on this forum who, for whatever reason, hope for the demise of NEFC in this age group. Our boys always enjoy playing this club, and this 'new' team is no different. With so many new kids, the first few weeks/games will be tough no doubt, everybody gets that. But they actually had moments of brilliance, and i predict they will do quite well for the year. Looking forward to playing them again.

What happened to TS? Aren't we supposed to be tearing young players apart and saying how the other teams suck? The coaches suck and the parents suck? Could it be that there were actually two complimentary posts back to back? I must be hallucinating.

I think we have all realized that bashing each other is no longer needed at the u/14 level. We are starting to see all the training / money we have all spent over the many years is starting to pay off, and we are all watching some really good soccer.
