In an anonymous forum like this conjecture like you are making about who is who or who is posting what or why leads to a lot of the nastiness we read here because what you end up doing is linking random things together that were not really intended to be linked together and overreacting. They really are just random posts that you are stringing together to form a pattern so that you can have some personal context. That context however does not really exist. What we really have on an anonymous forum like TS is literally chaos. It is unpredictable. People like me find posts like this one you made to be quite arrogant because you insist that your interpretation of chaos is more correct than mine when it is simply your opinion and no more valid than my opinion. All I see happening here is that you have succeeded in feeding into a Salem Witch hunt of sorts. I personally wish you would stop.
I got a couple of things for you to think about. You say it doesn't matter if it is you posting or not (even if almost all the posts are yours). Would you feel the same way if you knew a club DOC or coach of a rival was posting more than a 100 times a day with a laser focus aimed at reeling in and tamping down your club??? If you saw someone continually casting a negative shadow over anything that is not in their immediate interest?
And secondly, imagine if a parent of a Mewis or Brock or Andrews or Packwood did what you have done here? How do you think they would be viewed? Do you folks would just chalk that up to randomness....to chaotic, random chance? Would you wonder why a parent in that kind of position would render themselves so small? I know you won't think about any of this, because you never actually pause and think...but still.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostEveryone's motivation differs, from player to player and parent to parent. My daughter finished playing her freshman year at an elite D1 university and it was the best experience for her. A huge time commitment for sure, but the right kid will use that fact to better manage her time. And it provided a ready made group of friends from the moment she arrived on campus. Her social circle expanded over the year to include non athletes, but her soccer teammates are her closest friends.
She received a partial scholarship, but that wasn't the goal. Aside from just loving to play and being able to compete at a much higher level on a club team than she had on her high school team, the other key goal with doing club was to have soccer give her an edge in gaining admission to a school that regularly turns away many academically strong students. The number 5 ranked student in her high school was declined and my daughter was admitted. Although a very good student, she was only in top 10 percent of her class, not the top 10. I highly doubt she would have been accepted without the athletic tip.
It's certainly not for everyone and some kids will not be able to handle the comittments and drop the sport, but she was told it's only happened a handful of times at her school over the past 5 years or so. Which leads me to believe that college soccer is a positive experience for most of the players.

I came to this site figuring it would be a good place to get some info into the world of club soccer. Instead all I read is a bunch of negativity towards anyone who posts.
Is it all 13 year olds? Or are there truely that many angry adults with nothing better to do?
