Why are 90% of the post I see on here so confrontational?
I came to this site figuring it would be a good place to get some info into the world of club soccer. Instead all I read is a bunch of negativity towards anyone who posts.
Is it all 13 year olds? Or are there truely that many angry adults with nothing better to do?

I was onc like you but due to several factors including but not limited to anonymity, profit, crazy parents and coaches this website is not what it should be.

        Did I say anonymity?

Club soccer is the new religion. Various belief systems exist, and those who believe defend their chosen club with fervor. Despite the shortcomings of the situation, justifications are made and the beliefs get stronger. For those who dare speak out against, or worse yet "leave" the religion to go elsewhere, reprisals are swift and brutal. Welcome!

...and yet here we all are, despite all logic to the contrary.

Please try to overcome your persecution complex. If you're informed and believe that club soccer is not appropriate for your family, no one would argue that you shouldn't do whatever suits you. The possible exception is if your child appears to have D1 potential and cares enough to pursue that goal--in which case, some people might be moved enough to argue that, if feasible, your child has reason to pursue fairly high-level club soccer. In any event, life will go on.

Were you looking for information specifically about Mass club soccer or are you interested in a more general discussion on club. There are other forums and the ones that require registration tend to be a whole lot less negative (unless you are talking about that one on Long Island, Back of the Net, but then that is pretty much strictly LI stuff being discussed).

Your assumption is false. We are in this up to our eyeballs. My kid plays at a very high level and will likely go on to play in college at a high level. My point is that much like religion, arguing the merits and shortcomings of particular clubs is silly. It is much like trying to convince a staunch catholic, jew, muslim that their belief is false and yours is the better path. People are not swayed here on TS, it is simply an forum for the zealots.

Posts like yours are part of the problem. Everybody in here thinks their kid plays at a high level. If you are paying for them to play? Not high level. Sorry to bust your bubble. Diego Fangundez played at a high level. He didn't pay to play.

College soccer is a chimera. Don't waste your kids time by feeding them a dream that has a reality far different than you can imagine. Trust me - I have been there. Pushing my kid to play in college was the dumbest thing I did as a parent.

You have to realize that this IS what club soccer is all about!

Clubs try to influence parents and kids to keep them paying -- it is a business afterall!

Parents try to finagle a position for their kids on teams where they think they will have the best opportunities -- oftentimes at the expense of other KIDS!

Clubs and players have no loyalty to anyone but themselves! Clubs will sell unrealistic dreams to kids, they will screw parents/players over if it benefits them, and players will leave teammates in a bind while pursuing their pipe dreams.

If you can't handle these everyday occurences, have your kid play in the backyard with friends.

Club soccer is not a friendly environment where it's all about development and getting your player ready for higher level competition. . . it is a cut-throat money game where the "winners" are just better at playing the "game" than are the losers!

It's a sham and when a well-intentioned person attempts to pull the curtain aside to allow others to peak behind it, the people trying to protect it do their best to discredit the messenger!

You are the problem not me. My kid is the one pushing themself.

So anyone not turning pro as a teenager is wasting their time? Sorry that your kid had a bad experience in college. Sounds like Dad is still bummed out.
