Have you read the release? It's for a camp week! Does not involve club teams or forming any comletitve teams or management under the Breakers umbrella.

Nice try though! The Scorps/Breakers program is significantly grater than a camp week partnership.

My niece played for the NEFC U14 team. She was dreading next year until this merger was announced. Now she can stay close to home. She'll get to practice at the same facility with her cousins all the time now rather than once per week.

Wow! Don't know what you even mean! Isn't NR going to Scorps anyway? So you aren't going to Scorps when NR announced his moving, but now that the name changed you have no doubt that your "nieces " will move over. Oh! And the nice little throw away line is great. NEFC only trains once a week and they are planning on training far from south shore all of sudden. Who is this LB or MS or maybe FM. Just wow!

This is all pretty simple. This deal allows the Breakers to "create" a youth team program without having to absorb the cost themselves, and gets them involved with a club that - like them or not - has an established pedigree and a place in ECNL/"ECNL B"/Maple/NEP. This allows the Scorpions to take advantage of the Breakers name and status as the only women's pro team in the region, as well as their connection into the WPSL. Yes, there is no guarantee that the NWSL succeeds in the long run, but why not do this? Makes sense for both entities.

Who from the Breakers will they be adding? Other than the name! Staff assignments??? It's great in name, but look at the list of assigned coaches. They still have a 19 yr boy coaching 18 yr old girls. Great idea FM!!!

This is a classic "letterhead" merger. Happens in healthcare and education all of the time. Big announcement of strategic partnership and wait.....nothing happens. Both entities do their own thing and have a few joint marketing events. This has done one thng for Scorps, it has energized and placated their base. Not a bad move for them but really changes nothing. And to be real, the Scorps are profitable. The breakers are subsidized and losing money. They do not have deepockets. Their is not gonna be an infusion of cash.

Increased head count at tryouts = increased cash to the bottom line. Increased talent at tryouts = a stronger club while weakening competitors. South Shore soccer is a zero sum game. When a club gains talent another loses it. This shift will be very positive for the Scorps.

Is there any truth to rumor that the boys teams will now compete in the girls divisions of MAPLE NEP and MASC? I heard that - something about getting more gotsoccer points.

If the boys teams wanted to beat up on people they would play their top teams in MAPLE and beat the local competition like they used to. Anyone who thinks the younger boys teams at Scorpions are not the strongest on the south shore is delusional.

He is professional! Leave him alone, he has played at a very high level and will be very good for the girls.

If local families at other clubs saw the difference between the top Scorpions U9-U12 teams and their son's club team (insert any South Shore club name here) they would line up for tryouts.

Does anyone want to volunteer to help at tryout registration tonight? We're planning for record turn out.

                            Scorpions morph into Breakers.

Breakers make the former club stronger and better.

Breakers pose a "potential" problem for other club programs.

Pot stirring busy bodies no longer have the "Scorpions" to attack.

Careful what you wish for ladies. You wanted the Scorpions gone. You got it. Now you can't whine about them anymore. You also have a new entity to worry about. Poetic justice, that's what it is.

Breakers are rumored to be hemorrhaging money. The assumption seemed to be that this was a take over when in reality it is more like two desperate entities grabbing each other before they sank. We'll see if the move works.

                                This is based on what?

Who cares if he played at a high level. The fact is he has virtually no experience coaching and should not be a head coach of any team.
