expect middlesex to make a few surprises. very solid game against a very solid st marks team getting the edge in both halves but couldnt seem to finish. very well rounded team with good chemistry as they have almost the same starting XI as last year, and expect DC to be one of the best keepers this year

One month ago everyone had counted Rivera out without DM. Now NJ is getting it done in the back and TD is up top

Rivers is class of ISL and New England. Don't want to say it's a done deal but everyone else is playing for 2nd place.

Rankings after 1 week - one mans opinion:
1. Rivers - killing teams and no weaknesses
2. Roxbury Latin - lost a lot but just reload and have experience/legacy
3. St. Marks - the new kid on the block with lots of talent and youth
4. Nobles - down year last year but back to top where they are accustomed to being
5. Milton - with new players and sound defense will be tough to beat, expect them to be ISL contenders next yr.

Not sure how some of the posters are ignoring LA (while understanding you might not like how they play)- based on results so far and seeing a limited number of contests, looks like Rivers and LA will indeed be the ISL teams to beat- perhaps Nobles will compete as well? Good news is that a lot of the other contests should be close as many of the other teams appear to be solid squads but without the horses to really compete with the top teams. The Rivers and LA efforts from this Sunday were impressive (with the LA defense getting lots of credit for being able to withstand the skill of Berkshire on the attack). At the lower end, Govs looks to be in a tough spot again, with another new coach and little talent coming in, resulting in struggles against mediocre EIL teams. Brooks and RL both look to be in full rebuilding mode. Speaking of the EIL, even without their star, Beaver has way too much for any of the other EIL teams to compete (unless Portsmouth Abbey has picked up some foreign players, as they sometimes do), but people need to keep that in mind in reviewing Beaver's results (ie, the competition is weak).

Pretty good reasoning having seen the LA vs, Milton game...a lot of speed and skill on the LA team. Rivers vs. LA may come down to goaltending, set plays, and injuries/cards.

BB&N vs BH
So who wants to try and explain the Belmont Hill forfeit? The whole thing seems iffy

Wait my star got a red card. hmmmm......its preseason and the rest of the league isn't really looking...... Let me scramble to quickly schedule another game with a team that I have already scrimmaged against so that I can have him miss it but return for the ISL opener.....
Belmont Hill motto "....developing boys minds, body, spirit since 1923".....perhaps integrity would be a useful addition. Bravo to the ISL for holding BH accountable.
