How about referees that show up? We have had to reschedule games due to no referees! Really, what are we paying for?? Not easy on the visiting team!

Could happen at any non-town level league as all assigning is managed by a group of assignors. If they could schedule games farther out from the true date to grab refs before the town does, it would be a big help.

MAPLE has an opportunity to become a very important part of the local soccer landscape if:

MAPLE cleans up their act with respect to ensuring the quality of their product (ie scheduling flexibility and better officiating) and implement the club pass

The clubs realize that there is a difference in the expectations of the players playing at the different levels of club soccer and make a great product that matches the expectations of the player at this level. The clubs must realize that the cost for a MAPLE level team has to be relevant more to the town level programs than the elite level ones.

The players start to realize that they do not need to be on a super expensive elite level path if they don't have the desire or have the ability to be a high level (NCAA tournament) D1 college soccer player. There is nothing wrong with either situation. Players can still play at the collegiate level by just staying with the game and continuing to work on their skills, they just need to decide whether they want to go to school where their soccer ability fits.

Probably not a top 3, but worth a mention - fields.

Some of these clubs need to get their act together for their own sake in training and for the game play involving visiting teams. Some of the fields, from condition to size, just aren't suitable for any level of competition or training.
