Who really focuses on DOC credentials or knows what coaches are out looking for new jobs, never mind what they are saying in interviews? Who would think to leak that the Scorpions might be on probation in the ECNL and why would that matter to anyone not in the ECNL? As someone noted on one of these threads earlier today, the Stars don't really see NEFC as their chief competitor at all. Their chief competitor is the Scorpions and all of this trash on here over the past couple of weeks is aimed at weakening them as a rival for players interested in playing in the ECNL.


Gotta love it when btdt refers people to his own posts, including from other threads. Shouldn't this guy be laser-focused on his college recruitment and nuances of national team participation? But he's here every day??? This must be just recurrent dream, right? Can someone really be this disturbed?

You're not kidding. I find most scary the guy who is happy that young girls may be feeling angst because their parents sent them to Scorps in the first place. That guys has some serious unresolved issues. This is about children for god's sake.

It's still about kids. We chose Scorpions years ago at U10 because it was close to home and offered good training, experienced coaching, and mostly competitive games in an unexceptional but stable league -- Maple. This was all before the NEP and ECNL ever came along, and way before NPL and the upstart US Club sanctioned replacements for the USYS regional leagues. Same goes for many others who chose Scorps for their young players. ECNL was never a consideration, because it simply didn't exist when the original choice was being made.

Management was never the strong suit at Scorps, but folks generally recognized that and for the most part were willing to put up with the somewhat unprofessional nature of things there because the kids liked it and enjoyed eachother's company. The club managed to get by using seat of the pants organizational techniques for most things, and with the benefit of KC and KD in house, they were able to do enough to get into the ECNL.

What is causing the clear upset now is the obvious lack of plan for how the current turmoil will be addressed. When both DOCs leave, that signals a high level of frustration with the club management structure. Folks have always known there are better managed clubs out there, it's just that now with all the seeming disarray at Scorps, they are thinking it might be the time to look elsewhere or risk getting left behind. At least that's how it looks from here.

Ummm, no, it's just btdt. And not just with all this apparent big news in the last couple of weeks either, but for months, and years, with the same level of fervor. No difference. No change. No earth-shattering developments. Just the same btdt, all day, all night, every day, every night. The most pathetic soccer parent in the history of Massachusetts. Maybe if someone can pull some strings to get him in his high school or junior high HOF that will ease his overwhelming internal conflict that is the fuel that drives his obsession here...but very doubtful anything can put a dent in it. Not even the humilation of every soccer person in the state knowing what a fool he has made of himself has caused him pause.

It's about Soccer. When the captain of the US Women's U17 team was 11 she played and trained w/my (also 11 yr old) son on NH Stars U13 Boys team indoors in the old Rising Stars in Bedford, NH. She played 4 years of HS soccer. She played indoors at the Medford Dome on Friday nights in the HS Boy/Girl League, as close to organized pick up as you can get.

Just find a game. Play soccer. It's not a religion actually. Different parts of the world play different "styles". That's " styles " and this is a game. Everybody speaks the same language on the field. They just speak with different accents: European w/ French, German,etc variants;differing So.American accents; English; African takes on it, etc.

Play the game, anywhere and anyway you can, as often as you can. There is no Golden Path and there never was. The landscape may change but the game remains.

I assure you I am not BTDT and I have no dislike or animosity for Scorps (in fact, if their ECNL teams were training in Marlboro when my daughter was recruited by them, she likely would be there now). I also have little patience for the piling on that is going on in these threads over the past couple days.

However, to suggest that the current situation (with both DOC's leaving shortly before try-outs) is just more of the same with "No difference", "No change", "No earth-shattering developments" is to put your head in the sand . Clearly the club has serious issues with retaining high level coaches and key administrators and it has to be something more than geography.

In addition, the sooner the Scorps realize that the Stars are their main competitor (and not merely an ECNL travel partner) and stop worrying about NEFC or MPS (or posts from an alleged NEFC parent on TS), the sooner they can right their ship.
