This weekend isn't about soccer games. It's about remembrance.
Buy your team a bunch of those $.49 US flags and bring them to your first game. Remind your team why they are free to run around and kick a ball, whether its sunny or rainy, this weekend. Remember the real reason for this weekend.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostThat's a distorted view of Memorial Day. It was started to commemorate the Northern soldiers who died in the Civil War and war n broadened to commemorate all those who died while serving in the armed forces, which covers the Revolutionary War to the present. A lot of the soldiers who died were not fighting totaliitarian regimes with designs to take over the world. If the Brits had won the Revolutionary War, we'd probably have more kids running around playing soccer and our liberties would probably be no more shackled than Canada and Australia. On the other hand, you may be right about the Civil War. If the Southerners had won the war, they might have banned soccer in order to encourage more kids to play American football! Something to think about anyway.
