Look, when a new coach shows up, it gets ugly for the incumbent players. Smart ones either transfer or quit. The new coach might decide to favor your kid for a while as they bring in their recruits, Then you go away. Often you might be better than your replacement but it doesn’t matter. The new coach made a promise to the new player and you’re out.

As for the team, get this straight. No D1 team in New England is any good. Few if any are good enough to be in top 64 teams and those that squeak in via conference championships are usually one and done. But most of the schools are good academically and hopefully your kid can be a big fish in this little soccer pond. As for W/L if they play reasonably good teams they will lose most. Then they can play in their weak conference and still come out ahead. New England produces smart kids with below average athletic skills, and we are not a Mecca for good athletes to be attracted to.

The current Grad year, Senior, Junior and most of the Sophomore class was "recruited and built" by the previous coach.

His word is gold to many college coaches and YNT scouts and he can help or hurt your dd in the recruiting process based on his feedback to the coaches. Not a fan but like others have said, some love him and some are not fans. Good luck with all the coaching changes. It happens every year.

I suppose that could be true for some of the players from that 2006 team, but I'm not sure how it could explain why he failed to connect with the girls his second year considering how many of the players he brought on from different clubs. That team his second year was absolutely loaded with some of the best talent in the age group who moved to that team to play for him and try to win national championships. They certainly underperformed for the talent they had. On average, I bet 75% of his practices were just him talking and the girls listening. Lots of stories about the old days and which players he used to coach mixed in with some technical guidance. His evaluation of players often also seemed to be way off base (and I don't mean once or twice), as if he was constantly confusing which player was which. We have been around socal soccer for 30+ years and know several girls from a long time ago who absolutely loved him, so I do believe he was once a really good coach. I am just not sure he is still that guy and not at all surprised by the comments that he isn't connecting with the younger 09/10 girls.
