    High school season alternative

High school soccer is a joke where we live. My daughter is considering only playing club next year which is spring only . Are there options for kids in addition to private trainings, like a league with games at U17/U18 in the fall. North shore area.

No. But there should be. HS is a joke. Even the good schools - there is no time to recover or actually work on things. Just game after game after game. Becomes a war of attrition.

Yes! There is a league that is organized around a 10-month season. They take a little time off around the holidays, and then a break in the summer. They play through the fall and spring. Their rules are geared toward international play, so subbing aligns with those rules but it makes for competition for playing time intense. The idea is to mirror European youth systems as much as possible. I've noticed there are a lot of European-born ex-players with experience in those systems and are not shy about telling us how much better it is over there.

Oh, wait, my bad. This was tried and the paying public didn't want it....
