    BURNOUT:
    Boys or girls?
I don’t know about all the boys because ECNL hasn’t updated the Clubs yet on the site so rosters can’t be entered.
But I know my sons and it’s less than they said it would be on the website. Practice tees are a little expensive. Have had a lot of communication from Coach.
It’s been a fine if not better than expected start.

I saw the reports. That activity should be lawful and is not remotely unethical. And you are wrong to assume that he is guilty of anything. This is America. You don't know what happened and do not pretend that you do because you have an axe to grind. Please remember we do not live anywhere that presumes guilt.

Then he has a helluva bone to pick with Penn State or Michigan State because he hasn't been paid to coach for over a decade. Rules are rules whether you agree with them or not. Law and rules conduct are two different issues. When you work with youth, you damn better care about both. Sucks to BU!

You are reaching and bitter. Move ON. What are you waiting for? Clearly you are trying to kill this partnership with lies and rumors. What's best for the players, the boys who just want to play? Must a be that parent who is being fed half truths. It's a good sign when people like you show up on threads like this, you're not part of Surf, Bolts, Aztec, Bayside, whatever so move. Go enjoy whatever team or sub standard league that is best for your kid. No one wants you around. Just move on.

You forgot Stars, the typical youth soccer parent would not care. But parents of ECNL kids (I've had two) are focused on getting scholarships for their kids. That process involves recommendation letters from coaches and guidance through the recruiting process. When your coach and / or main point of contact was banned from NCAA recruitment because of violations, sorry...that matters. If it doesn't, it should. Actions have consequences. No "axe to grind" here. I don't have a kid in BRAVE, but know enough about the process to call a duck a duck. TERRIBLE decision to bring someone like that on board when starting a new club.

Incident was with 2009. Give me break and the person is coaching younger age groups If you don't have a kid on an ECNL squad - go away. It's not your concern and you are clearly toxic to youth soccer jumping on a forum, creating the title to malign someone that supposedly has nothing to with you or your family. I have/had two in ECNL as well, this won't matter. You're reaching. You have an agenda. You are not a good person and I would suspect a ****ty parent who models this act of retribution to a stranger in an online forum. Really, think about what you're doing. It's not a good look and frankly, cowardice.

                  Dear *****,

We could not agree more. Let's take it from the top.

                  1. We don't know what happened.
                  2. Whatever happened, happened in 2009.
                  3. What allegedly happened would be potentially lawful today and is not unethical in any sense. You can say rules should never be broken. We will just agree to disagree when it comes to the NCAA, where the rules are cartel diktats by schools that have taken advantage of undercompensated labor pools for years to generate revenue and alumni contributions for years.
                  4. He would be a U14/U15 travel soccer coach. Exactly what would be the rulebreaking that would occur? How would it affect collegiate recruiting? What is that you imagine that he would be up to with his eighth-grade boys? He was a college coach FFS. What is the range of unethical things that travel soccer coaches can do?
                  5. Are you saying that college programs would see that an ex-D1 head coach mentored some candidates when they were 14, and not offer scholarships, despite the talent? Really? Why wouldn't they think it's great that a U14 kid had an ex-D1 coach to guide their development?
                  6. Have any of you soccer parents on the girls side ever followed men's college football or college basketball? Rules violations, especially minor ones, have not affected the ability of coaches to recruit or send players anywhere, and if you have ever been around any program of repute, you will know that any program and any coach in the country could be hauled in on an NCAA violation.

Stop it, please. Or name your club while you are at it, and we can welcome what others have heard and observed about the ethics of your coaching staff while we're at it.

                  Love,
                  Lawrence Kudlow

It's bizarre that a parent that with no affiliation to the club in question, who no longer has kids in this stage, would need to come in an anonymous forum to spread this stuff. Clearly you have an axe to grind. Maybe with the former Aztec, or with ECNL, or just youth soccer in general because your kids didn't achieve what you wanted so you need to find people to blame. Just go away please.

To be completely honest, we feel stuck. My daughter didn't make other team and was offered ECRL at other clubs with promise to practice and play with their ECNL team but we decided to stay and give it a run for this year. Looking at the roster, hearing all the stories - we are wondering if we made the right decision and if it would have been better to accept RL at other nearby clubs.
