I think the classes are divided by school size only so I'm not sure how they would move to Class B. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it will be the same as every year. Top of Class A will BB&N, Worcester, Thayer and Westie. Top of Class B will be Dexter Southfield (they're stacked), Pingree and Brooks but they lost a lot of seniors including their goalie.

Default is enrollment size but there are mechanisms to apply for a waiver to move up or down. Tabor applied to move into A a few years ago despite their B enrollment size. I heard they are moving back now that they have lost many of their top players over the last two years.

From the NEPSAC Girls Soccer Handbook:

"Classification: The members of the NEPSGSA Executive Board review all NEPSAC schools individually. In keeping with the criteria outlined by the NEPSAC Executive Board (see NEPSAC Directory), schools are classified on the basis of female enrollment at the start of each school year. NEPSGSA has set the female enrollment parameters as follows:

            ● Class A: 250 and above
            ● Class B: 180 to 249
            ● Class C: 110 to 179
            ● Class D: 110 and below

"In conjunction with female enrollment numbers, NEPSGSA uses the following when determining class:

            ● Strength of program
            ● Non-league schedule
            ● Program history
            ● League affiliation

"Schools may appeal their classification to the NEPSGSA Executive Board. Classification appeals or changes will take place following the last day of a team’s season and April of the off-season. If the board denies an appeal and the school contests the denial, the appeal then moves to the NEPSAC Executive Board for a final decision."

Unfortunately Thayer is in for a rough season. Only returning 12 players from last year's roster of 24 (combination of graduation, transfer and just stop playing) and two of our three best remaining players (Fairfield and Clemson commits) are out for the season. And another of those 12 is out for the year. Only 5 active players saw significant time last year. PT is essentially starting from scratch.

Losing the USC goalie will really hurt Brooks. Top midfielder graduated too and is now at Northeastern.

I wouldn’t discount Porters, Loomis or Choate this year- let’s hope for a good class A battle

Didn’t Porter’s beat Westy last year?

Beat Westy 1-0 in regular season but lost 1-0 to them in the Class A playoffs.

I do love NEPSAC soccer season. It's fun to see all the amazing campuses. While Andover is obviously the benchmark I have to say I loved Westminster. It's basically a college campus.

I love St. George's. Right on the water.

It looks like Tabor is slightly over that 250 number for 9-12 girls so they would actually be applying to waive out of Class A and into Class B even though their enrollment puts them in A.
