They didn't make it not because they weren't good enough but because rosters were filled with new players who tried out over winter or late April / early May.
The good players will definitely be moved up mid season or end of year.

Good lord I do feel for these families, somewhat. I mean, on one hand it's a classic case of "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice shame on me".

On the other hand, as long as their dreams are tied to a carrot, they'll follow any message of hope.

My d has been with Stars since u10. I am not a coach with a carrot.
I have seen talent spotted from lower teams and promoted. I do not doubt that the cream will be identified and allowed to come to the top.
It was just bad luck for the Aztec girls that the news of the club folding didn't come sooner.

          Sooner?

They danced around for years avoiding the scenario. Anyone with an inkling of a clue or remedial reading capabilities should've known years ago to make a move. Being belligerently defiant is no excuse.

It's not that easy to move clubs because of friendships and inertia. I'm sure families wanted to believe the end wasn't actually happening. And they probably wanted to stay with their coaches till the ship actually was submerged. I get it.

So, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

What's fool me three times mean?
