I'll just assume that's sarcasm, and well done at that.

100%. Unions kept schools closed due to covid, meanwhile teachers were hitting bars, vacations etc....

ummmm not our school district. We had to do online teaching w our kids each day. Sometimes meeting with small groups of kids falling behind online. We had to learn how to teach practically overnight and keep kids engaged via FaceTime. No bars were open. No hotels. No extra money. Teachers were not hitting bars. Now I do know people in the hospitality business had to cancel weddings, events and close reception sites. Those people were able to collect unemployment for months and some went on road trips and yes partied hard.

LOL. Overheard more than once during my kid's on-line classes:

"Open your books to Chapter 2. Read that and I'm here for any questions."

That was education for the day.

The reaction from the Randi Weingarten's of the world did more to set us back now, and in the future, than most will ever realize.

Sorry you seem to be part of a crappy school system. That was not what we experienced at all.

Sadly, one of the best in the state. Sorry you don't realize just how bad our kids were treated during the panic.

I have several family members who are teachers in various public schools (nieces, sisters, in-laws, etc.) and have to agree....remote learning was a complete shltshow and none of them wanted it any more than the rest of us. They weren't set up for it, not experienced at it, and despite their efforts they didn't feel like they got anything accomplished for a year +.

I wouldn't blame the teachers so much, they did their best, but it was out of their hands.

Every teachers union official should be put in jail for what they did to our children.

Online was no different than what they do in the classroom. But NOW we all got to see that the kids learn nothing. I used to ensure my kids went to school everyday. Now? Now we go on vacation during the year whenever we feel like it. School is a joke in modern times.

Online was completely different. Whether it was good or bad one could debate, but how anyone could possibly say it was the same is...frankly, hilarious.

The only difference was that now the teacher could “mute” the problem kids.

A teacher telling kids to read a chapter while they do nothing else I would think is different in many school districts.

                              I guess not all...
