New to these boards and am genuinely confused. There is almost no helpful information on them. Most are people arguing back and forth, and mostly just badmouthing other clubs. A recent NEFC-related thread that had been quiet for a week just had a bunch of negative posts posted in quick succession that seem untethered to any new developments, have no useful information... Just a bunch of anti-NEFC commentary. For whom is this worth it? I am really trying to understand the posters here ---- Disgruntled parents? Parents at rival clubs who might benefit from competition seeming worse? Competitor clubs?

Because too many parents are worried things aren't working out for them, so in an effort to feel better they bring someone else down.

it is mostly done by trainers at clubs that are afraid their players will go to another club and they will lose their cash cows. They really do not have the skills to do much else and losing training jobs would be a big problem for them. So they bash other clubs in hopes of getting more people to their club. You can always tell since most of the clubs that get bashed are geographically close to another club of similar quality or it is a new up and coming club that is doing surprisingly well and they do not want people to go there on principal (you do not want a new club to be ranked higher than you because then you cannot charge more than them)

Many of the posts are too uninformed to be real people associated with soccer. Many of them seem to be people and teams getting paid to post misinformation and promote division.
Unfortunately a lot of people take the bait.

Its literally 3-4 parents posting anonymously and pretending to be multiple people to try and win arguments.
Also it's parents trying to help their team + hurt other teams through nonstop astroturfing.
Finally there's A LOT of $$$ to be made in youth sports. As long as coaches + club owners can keep convincing you to pay 3-4k a year for soccer they make 250k+ a year.

There are a lot of clubs/coaches out there that are not providing quality and when people speak up they get annoyed. Most of the posts are a result of a product or service in the soccer landscape that is inferior and people have had enough! There is no open communication within most clubs to voice concerns, so they come here to educate the rest of us!
When clubs stop focusing on the players that is an issue! Too many Coaches have huge EGOs and this causes most of the conflict in the US.

This is where you go to get revenge on the coach/club that cut your kid by saying the coach is abusive.

The complaints are not the problem here. It's the extreme posts - allegations of criminal behaviour, or just the stupid posts put up only to create conflict.
For starters, people need to just stop responding to those.

However, with thread titles worded like this - "NEFC watered down crap part 2" what do you expect...

It doesn't matter if you ignore "part 2" a troll or a parent that gets off on being an ahole will just start a "part 3" thread.
On the girls side for some reason ECNL tends to attract the worst type of parents. They do everything you're not supposed to if development is the end goal. Keeping track of scores, club hopping, paying the coach for privates, etc, etc, etc. ECNL coaches fan the fire by cutting players, recruiting the big kid, playing kickball to the forwards, etc.
What ends up happening is a large percentage of ECNL players burn out at a young age. As this starts happening parents get militant online trying to do anything they can to keep their kid playing. Not realizing that they are the reason their kid doesn't want to play.
Girls need an Academy option like MLSN Acadamies on the boys side. This would give the top players a place to be amazing. It would also take some of the pressure off regular teams because wins and losses wouldn't be the difference between playing at North Carolina or the USYNT and not playing on those type of teams.
