    Post showcase expectations

My HS junior attended the PDA Showcase this weekend. Looking to play D3 soccer. Had many schools come to watch that she’s been emailing back and forth with. Can anyone share what to expect next? Will coaches reach out this week if interested? How long after a showcase do you hear something if you’re going to hear something?

She should follow up with the coaches that saw her and ask for feedback and reiterate her interest in potentially attending the school.

Probably won’t hear for a few days

Follow up with an email next week if you added any highlights from Nora to her film package and express interest.

It's D3, pick a college, pay the tuition and then join the soccer team. Very easy recruiting process.

I think the OP asked a decent question, and likely one that other parents are curious about. Your dismissive response, however, indicates at least a couple of possibilities: 1. you fall into that unfortunate category who believe if it is not D1, a student's college experience really doesn't matter 2. you really don't know what you are talking about.

              Why do this?

My D plays soccer at a strong academic D3 college. In her 3 years so far on the team, not a single walk-on player has made the team.

Most even semi-intelligent people realize this. Don’t let the bozos who are insecure get to you.

Your daughter needs to be talking directly with the coaches at this point. Have her call them up as soon as possible. Things are getting busy. ECNL NC is this weekend. ECRL Regional tournaments are in two weeks and ECNL nationals follow that.

"Hi Coach. This is so and so from club x and I am following up with the coaches that came to watch me play at the PDA Showcase."

Ask if they need to see any game tape. Any comments on play at PDA. Where they stand in the recruiting process.

Finish with - "I look forward to talking with you again at your ID camp on <insert date>. Have a good one."

Also, its time for the club coach to earn his keep. Have him call your daughter's top three schools.

                        Excellent. Thank you.
