Would it surprise anyone if your kid is impacted regardless of the vote - no it would not.

      All this thread is doing:
      a) Lifting the SEO of talking-soccer.com
      b) Boosting ad revenue for talking-soccer.com
      c) Providing a QAnon frenzied forum for wacko soccer parents

This is no longer driven by ECNL alone, if it was it would be grad year. This is now about increased participation for all and fixing the problems created by birth year. 9/1 - 8/31 has become the more accepted date that includes the majority of youth soccer players.
        What you need to understand about the empirical data is that the “research” was funded and conducted by parties with vested interested. It is neither scientific not impartial. Using this biased information amounts to fraud. This is a deeply rooted cultural problem we have in soccer that could be described in various ways – I choose here to refer to it as ego-driven. There are also many examples of this ego-driven culture from much higher up the organizational soccer chain. For example, FIFA and the irresponsible leadership that has been previously elected, their corruption and lack of transparency or from U.S. Soccer and their refusal to hear and respond to the 40,000 parents who signed a petition asking for questions to be answered about the “beloved” Birth Year Mandate.

          I will start this sentence with “us” like an invalid. Us Christians totally agree! we have failed to learn from the glaring anecdotal and scientific evidence right in front of us, and instead of finding a different and better way to develop players, we continue down the same tried and not-working paths, even paving the same paths again.

            My daughter wasn't born on this date. The date of the change should be her birthday, not someone elses.

              Scorpion SC, FC Stars, and Boston Breakers all
              publicly support birth year over school year.

                Let's make this 5/1 for the kids born in May.

                  I agree, seems like it is too much of a risk to change to something that has never really vetted or tested. 8/1 was around for a while and was working fine.

                    What about Zelenskyy SC? It is understood that his cutoff date is Monday, January 20, 2025.

                      U15 = freshmen
                      U16 = sophomores
                      u17 = juniors
                      u18 = seniors

                      There will be no U19

                      Someone correct me if I'm wrong please?
                      Senior year will likely still be U18/19

Modern soccer requires a modern cutoff that maximizes the number of schools (majority use 9/1) and the majority of students (September and October are among the highest birth rate months). We will be unstoppable internationally for both genders with that kid of statistical alignment, fuller youth pipeline, and millions of players nationwide.
                        My child is born in October. Let's use that month instead of August or September or January or any of the other 11 months. Sheesh!!

                            I think you need to adjust your internal mechanisms to discern humor from stupidity.

                              Even though some clubs have internally confirmed it will be delayed for a year (which is odd without the vote taking place yet), I wonder what happens if US Club Soccer votes to implement immediately and tells leagues they are required to do so. Yes, we can find a way to make everyone happy and for clubs to make even more money. Just run 2 concurrent leagues. League A will be Jan 1st to July 1st and League B will be July 1st to Dec 31st. I said it before, if the kids want to play with kids in their grade in school either they'll be forced to (July 1st to Dec 31st) or they'll have the option to play up with their grade (Jan 1st to July 1st). This solves RAE, lets kids play with their grade in school, and creates more teams for kids to play on. Which means more $$$ for clubs. Why have an A and B team when you can have two A teams.

                                You over-idealistic Obamaite, how cute! Do you see the difference between what we have now and this proposal? Right now Jan 1st birthdays have an advantage. In the proposal I defined above Jan 1st birthdays have the choice to have an advantage playing down or can choose to play up with kids in their grade in school. I like how it naturally calls out the BS of players playing "down" for wins. It's also gently encourages players to play up with their age group for things like showcases.
