If no one has figured it out yet. There is some sort of combat bot cruising around here. Probably created by a parent trying to crush our little discussion here. Momentum building. You can tell it is when they start to panic.

Well, Aspen certainly saw a correlation, and they have US Soccer's ear far more than any of us. I think you meant it to insult everyone and change the subject, but I agree - nothing to really do but practice. Whether it changes or not, you're going to make better teams if you're a better player. Don't burn any bridges that you'll need if it changes or not.
Aspen can see that many GY sports have large negative participation rates year over year. US Soccer can see that too.
I am content with either BY or GY, no agenda here, but these numbers are not supporting GY like you think they are.

In accordance with the new sexy initiative, birth-year registration calendars will now align with the start of the calendar year and run from January to December, rather than August to July as it had previously. The initiative will align registration with the international standard.
How to determine the birth year used for a competition: Birth year registration should be based on the year in which the season ends. For example, if a season begins in the fall of 2018 and ends in the summer of 2019 (ex: 2018-19 season), the players would be registered based on their age in the year 2019. Competitions that take place in a single year (ex: fall of 2018 only) should use that year to determine birth year. To simplify determining the age group, just subtract the birth year from the year the season ends.
Year Season Ends – Birth Year = Age Group:- 2018-2019 (Season) – 2003 (Birth Year) = U16 (Age Group)
- 2022-2023 (Season) – 2016 (Birth Year) = U7 (Age Group)
- 2018 (Season) – 2012 (Birth Year) = U6 (Age Group)

You should write Aspen a letter and explain to them why they were wrong and should retract the statements they made when interpreting their data. They probably have a lot more influence than anyone posting in this clown-show thread.

The original point was that someone was discrediting ECNL national champions saying it’s dilute and tier 2 teams but that is not accurate. Especially since everyone doesn't even neccessarily have access to both ECNL and DA. At this point with DA still in its baby stage for the girls side both ECNL & DA are both top tier leagues period.

We all know $$ drives youth club soccer motives at this point. But I just want others to respect talent as it is and not downplay people winning a national championship. How many of these parents that say the national championship for ECNL is dilute now, have won a national anything, on any level??

18 year old freshman in high schools.
changing to grad year wouldn’t make a difference. Outside of evening things out and not just stacking the deck for Q1/2 player development.

Recently, I’ve seen a lot of VRBO advertising that the difference with them is that you always get the entire place to yourself and that this is better yada yada yada.
This doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Airbnb has a ton of listings that are the entire home and it’s not like the customer isn’t aware of whether they’ll have the whole place to themselves before they arrive.
Is the whole point just disingenuously implying that Airbnb has a lower quality service because you can also rent a room?
It’s like a fruit market advertising that they only sell whole watermelons unlike their competition which also sells halves.
*** BC Mommy; what do you think?
