How come this thread has not been put to rest? Oh that’s right, rich entitled prep school parents want to impose/force their opinions on the rest of us. You are so sure you can make things go your way because of your “financial influence.” It’s funny the poor public school families on here are laughing at the rich snowflakes trying to justify why we should not go back to grade cut off because it affects the rich kids prep school garbage. Will your children always need special treatment? Will
you tell the admissions at Harvard to accept your golden child because her daddy paid for the new wing on the library?
I know you think Im jealous but it’s beyond exhausting dealing with your type on the sidelines and listening to the garbage on this thread.
Soccer is a sport for all kids, all races and socio economic backgrounds. For the private school prep school folk to come on here arguing your cause so your kid is getting another leg up is just gross.
If ECNL and the soccer higher ups choose to move back to grade, grad year, Sept 1, cut off it will be for the good of the future college recruits for the colleges, not for you. It will help w trapped players. It will give families who carpool from the same grade and school the option to carpool w families they know. It will prevent so many girls from quitting due to all the above. It’s about opportunity for the majority. Put your checkbook away. Enough.

Ok you are right how about the academic load increases exponentially. It’s early…

I’m not sure why other posters are being snarky about private school as widely discussed in another thread the top players on the top teams are told to go to private school by their clubs. This isn’t new.
That's so weird...In the past, schools like Andover have lots of stellar students applying to the school for 9th grade and can pick the ones that are academically prepared without having to do anything like that. Has that changed? Are these schools not compelling enough to attract strong students anymore?

Actually, it's mostly for the young u-littles who quit because they are intimidated by being on a team with mostly kids a grade older. Has very little to do with private schools et al.

Having kids reclass doesn’t mean they aren’t the best and brightest. And no HADES school has a problem with recruiting. I’m not going to derail this thread there is an entire post dedicated to private versus public school.

If a family is paying for a new wing on the library at Harvard, the kid is getting in. It’s life.

Reclass is for the rich, immature, academically and physically behind kid who needs lots of hand holding through life. Everyone knows it. Now kids are staying back in kindergarten too. This country is messed up with entitled brats.

This is why we need to go to age cutoff Sept 1- Aug 30, over grade or grad year. There’s enough advantage in the world for the rich.

Please don’t @ me with redshirting it is an almost nonexistent problem in girls sports. Most kids who redshirt start kindergarten late or a select few reclass at a new private high schools. No public high school girl is repeating freshman year to game her club team.
Not going to happen because it’s not an issue really today. The cutoff isn’t changing so might as well close this thread

England does it this way. They are better than the US at soccer.

Sept 1- Aug 30 is definitely on the table as best possible option to avoid the older recessing players.
                            Change definitely happening.
Focus on your player not the league.
