1) "So what" and "Instill some resiliency in your child" does not invalid the fact that there's an issue. Yes, there are work-arounds for the issue, but the need for workarounds means there is actually an issue that you have to work around. The issue goes away using Aug 1 cutoff.

3) Even taking your assertion here as being true (which it isn't), this is an issue then for anyone trying to get recruited to a D3 program. For D3 recruiting, the most crucial time to be seen at showcases is junior year spring semester, and if you are a trapped player on a U19 team, the vast majority of good showcases don't even have a U19 bracket. Have been through this soccer recruiting process twice, so am deeply familiar with the process.
