why shouldn't it? Other than the 1yr disruption like we saw in 2017 can you give 1 negative effect of switching to graduation year?

Because there’s nothing negative happening now. The only people complaining are late in the year parents. Which does suck but moving it will just impact a different group the same. The only reason they want it moved is to help their mis be the oldest on the team. That’s it. The rest of this is pure bs and distraction. Someone is going to be the youngest. But what irritates me is that in typical m******* style the daddies and mommies are more than happy to sacrifice other people’s kids to prop their mia up. Pretty disgusting behavior

Because there is absolutely no reason to switch , it’s doesn’t align with the rest of the world and it doesn’t make sense for national teams . Frankly it just doesn’t make sense . Next question

ok, that’s all your opinion. But the leadership of ECNL clearly disagrees with you not just the ‘daddies and mommies.’

The stubbornness here is astounding - it's an absolute refusal to acknowledge the reasons presented by ECNL and insisting it's just an arbitrary shift in who will be older and younger on the team. For those arguing here in favor of returning to class year, rest assured it's noticeable to other observers that the caliber of your writing and logic is far above those arguing against you.

Yes if someone agrees with you good. Disagree bad. Straight from the playbook. Again no issue to current status other than the late in the year birthdays and even then the issue is negligible. So let’s recap, do trapped players play less games? No. Do trapped players lose trainings? No. Do college coaches miss recruiting late in the year born kids? No. Does it impact u18/19 kids who if they’re good have already chosen a school? Maybe slightly if they’re still searching for a school but that’s a very small number. Does it make the mommies and daddies of b team kids who are late year birthdays angry because they think Mia would be on the a team if this were changed? Oh that’s a big 10-4

There are exactly ZERO college coaches posting on Talking Soccer. ZERO.

You say that like it’s a fact. That is indeed not a fact. You’d be surprised who posts on here…

they lose no trainings and they can play in friendlies. So no they don’t miss a season. I don’t get what’s so hard to understand
How can you not comprehend that trapped 8th graders do not have a fall soccer season. Not club soccer season but season period. Their older counterparts have a fall HS season then a spring club season. Trapped players do not have any fall season. You have to be aggressively trying to miss the point.

That’s on you and your club. ECNL allows kids to play down. Our non ECNL club had kids practicing and playing in tournaments in the fall. Switch clubs and do some research.

Are aggressively dumb? Trapped players can practice with the year younger team. They can play in friendlies. 2 can play in an ecnl game. And most importantly, they literally play the same number of games as they normally would just starting 2 months later. Like these are all facts, not opinion not conjecture honest to god facts. There’s literally no downside to what’s happening now. You may need to read this a few times because obvious slow or something. But yet again don’t let the facts get in the way of your narrative.

Switching back to Aug 1 cutoff would eliminate the need for any of these players to play down or switch clubs to have a fall season in 8th grade. Why so resistant to the change?

Why have a system where you need to jump through these hoops when there's an alternative that doesn't require the hoops and has no downside?

what hoops do you have to jump through? What are you talking about? What’s the downside to the current cut off? Seriously not one legitimate fact to change has been made. Oh except that it shifts the burden to a different birth month. Someone will be the youngest always. There’s no benefit to making the change. 0

When ECNL changes, your non ECNL club can keep BY. Not an issue for you.
