This could be a big deal, eh? Some of the more important bits as far as I can tell:

- funding for the ~$3B settlement will be a significant burden for smaller D1 schools

- scholarship limits would go away, and be replaced with caps on roster sizes

- TBD whether revenue-sharing would be subject to Title IX

Thoughts on the implications for college soccer? Seems like you’ll have P4 schools expanding scholarships and distributing some revenue share. Will the others need to cut, or is the settlement burden a little overblown?

This feels like D1 will begin to be divided between those with football (p4) and without. There is little chance that the like of Central Ct., Sienna, UNH and others will be able to compete in non revenue generating sports with the likes of even the BC’s, Wake’s, and Cal’s of the D1 world. D1 will eventually have to divide and create a second division (similar to what football does) for other sports. The football money runs downhill to other sports, Non P4 schools will struggle to be even remotely competitive.

I like how the media is trying to scare people by saying NCAA changes will affect Title IX. Considering that Title IIX is a federal law nothing will change.

If anything female basketball softball and soccer players will continue to be needed to even out huge football rosters.

What will be interesting is if $$$ for players will be split evenly for both male and female sports programs. If this happens female programs are going to win big.
