        NEFC is the top team in this age group.

          Its a great age group right now; with a lot of good teams in the mix

          1.NEFC Central - CB are the best (Won Manhattan and NEFC)
          2.Western Red/ Pioneers Black combine
          3.Aztec
          4=.Stars (Won Scorpion Bowl)
          4=.Scorpions (Won MAPS)

          In that order. NHPSA and Bruno are not even close. Valeo had a good showing at NEFC this past weekend.

          Baltimore Bays are the best in Region 1 but I think NEFC would give them a good go

            This is a hard question to answer because some teams play 8v8 and others play 11v11, and yet others are transitioning from 8v8 to 11v11.

            I would put very little weight on results from March tournaments. For that matter, I wouldn't put much weight on tournament results in general, as they tend to reward endurance and depth more than skill. Instead, look at the league standings.

            If you look at the MAPLE standings from last fall, NEFC had a clear edge, while in NEP, Western Red, Scorpions, Stars, MPS Bulldogs and NHPSA were tightly grouped (with Aztecs also deserving consideration as they were playing in a U13 division).

              I do not understand your comment about endurance and depth? Are you saying the NEFC team is not skilled? Have you seen this team play?

                1) NEFC by a lot, made good teams look bad at NEFC Cup
                2) Western Red
                3) Stars /
                3) Aztecs tie
                5) Scorpions
                6) Valeo (rising)
                7) MPS Bulldogs

                After that:
                NHPSA, Liverpool, Abbey Villa, Vikings

                2 thru 7 is very close and no I am not an NEFC parent

                  NHPSA beat valeo in manhattan and MPS bulldogs at NEFC so why the low rating?

                    When I said that tournament results in general tend to reward endurance and depth, I meant that they tend to reward endurance and depth. You play four or five games compressed into two or three days. That's not the best way to determine which team is best. I have no idea how you managed to get the idea that I was making some comment about the NEFC team, since they weren't even mentioned in that paragraph.

                    And I see that other people are getting carried away based on the results March pre-season tournament games between teams that may have had very different practice schedules and which may have been missing some players. Again, this is silly.

                      I know for a fact that a few of these teams have been playing 8 v 8 and were picking up additions to roster to play 11 v 11. No doubt NEFC looked good but I think you are getting carried away.

                              Personally I would prefer 8v8 at U12 with formations and tactics that transition well to 11v11 at U13.
