A former coworker has a daughter on 2011 Stars Sky blue (ECRL2), they live on the south shore and Im pretty sure that team was based out of there. Just saw a posting online that team will now be based out of Manchester, NH? Would they move a team like that?

They should ask Stars instead of their former coworkers.
If they’re not asking you and you’re just sticking your nose in other people’s business, you should butt out. Doesn’t sound like it has anything to do with you.

My sister in law’s best friend knows a kid on that team. How will she deal with the location change?. Asking for a friend.

Wonder if they see SSS as a threat or lost players to their ECNL/RL teams and decided to move north?

It's a good move by Stars, they are doing everyone on the teams a favor. There's no need to have Stars south of Boston. (As the team's 3-11-2 record shows.) Scorpions has ECNL, ECRL and ECRL2, and the competition for talent will increase for next year with South Shore Select GA moving to ECNL and starting an ECRL team, as well as the two Rhode Island/SE Mass moving to GA.

Stars sees a less saturated market in southern NH. No need to hold on to a weak team in a saturated region. They should have communicated this to the team, but it doesn’t take a genius ex-coworker to read the writing on the wall.

Seacoast is not in a good position since 3Step bought them. Seacoast MA is crumbling and I know several seacoast families who have attended both NEFC NS GA tryouts and Stars practices. I agree, there is an opportunity in that market and makes sense for Stars Sky Blue to move in.

The move sucks for current families but makes sense for the club…if you’re going to field a team that’s 5 levels down in your depth chart and slap an “Elite” label on it you should put it as far away from the other teams as possible to have a chance at getting better players
