    Boys Club Teams South Shore

So we live in scituate and have two boys currently playing for Galway at U8 and U10. We don’t know about IFA besides what we’ve read on here. It seems like we should look elsewhere for a new club but also don’t want to travel crazy distances for training and games.

What club would be the best option on the south shore. We have been looking at Bolts and Surf so far. Is there any other options and coaches who would be worth playing for?

You can also check into seacoast for boys. But honestly if you like the coaches and the location and the teammates it sounds like IFA is just absorbing the club so things may not change too much in terms of your boys’ day to day. As long as the coaches don’t quit en masse maybe give it a shot.

Coaches are going or gone already

We've never had a kid at JAB or IFA but have been on teams that have competed against their top teams for years. I know they have their issues, but from my perspective they have some good coaches and more depth of talent than anyone. I wouldn't necessarily run just because of the new logo. Maybe a little bit of a factory, but it could still be the right fit for you especially if you're looking to play on a very high level boys team.

Other South Shore clubs: Bolts East, Seacoast, LFC, Mass City. South Shore Select is trying to ramp up the boys program again. I vaguely remember Stars having a South Shore region. Maybe it's gone now or just girls. Not sure. Same with Scorps.

So I view this take over of Galway the exact same as when GPS took over Galway. Nothing really changes besides the name and player fees increase to pay for the IFA top coaches and legal fees like happened with GPS.

I would strongly encourage looking at Bolts South Shore. They have a been the only model of consistency on the boys side across the entire south shore. Their coaching staff is pretty good and gets even better as you get to the older age groups.

I'm not sure about Seacoast, their coaching is not that good. IFA seems better, their teams are more competitive.

We're at Seacoast. Like pretty much every club, coaching can be hit or miss. We're happy with our coach. We know some other teams are happy with theirs. We also know some bad coaches and would leave if they ever became our coach.

Anyone think this might have been started by bolts south shore?

why don’t you find out if the coach is leaving. Doubt they will be so don’t make rash decisions. Oh wait, that advice won’t help you as a bolts coach

Our coach is staying with the club but not with our oldest team. We don’t know the new coach and haven’t really heard anything else. We feel kinda of left in the dark and our conversation with our current coach we get the same feeling with him not knowing the outlook after next year.
