    NAL Girls

Is this a viable option for high school?

Not if you want any value

As always, whether it's right for a player depends on their goals. If staying in shape for HS season is a primary goal, then that is more likely to be a fit. The time commitment for travel to training and games can be less than some of the alternative leagues.

What you can get out of any league mostly depends on the team members and the coach. The competition is the third component. Both NAL and DPL have too wide a range of level of play, so the matches can be uneven.

The NAL league schedule is short. Many teams go to a number of tournaments (some local, some farther away) to supplement that and to get more competitive matches.

DPL is somewhat similar, for comparison.

It would be better for players if these two similar leagues were merged, that would allow better competitive matches and less travel. But that would require league and club owners putting the players' interests ahead of their own.

I cant believe DPL dropped the ball on this. Now NAL is adding divisions and growing and this will make things harder in the future (it's bad enough DPL dropped the ball, but making such a big deal with their "merger" with that boys league, it made them look even more pathetic)

Breathing kicking and running are all the requirements needed for HS. So any club and any league will do.

Sorry to hear your team is so weak and pathetic. A lot of athletic ability (or the lack thereof) as well as intelligence and human decency (or lack thereof) is passed on from the parents, so sorry about that too sir. Though tbh more sorry for your kids and your wife than you.

Our HS varsity roster is all good or better club players, with some athletes committed to play in college. We face other similar teams.

A good club experience should help develop your player. Club owners and league owners should be ashamed that there isn't a league designed for players who want to be the best HS player they can be, without unnecessary travel and time and cost.

Many or maybe most players do additional workouts on their own, and/or also do another sport.

Check the rosters of any 10 random public high school teams. You will find many kids who played DPL, NECSL etc. So I will stand by my original comment. Any club will do.

Also, ad hominem attacks are not a great way to set yourself ahead in the human decency or intelligence arguments. You’re also sexist for assuming I was a man.

NAL stands for “Not A League”
