GA roughly 10g a year with club fees, coaches fees, showcase travel (airfare, rental car, food, hotel/airbnb), “local travel’ (hotel, food, gas, tolls), tolls and fuel for training. Single parent that pays for it and covers 95% of travel and fees.

Just got an offer for SSS NAL and it is $4995, with no tournament fees included. This club will bleed you dry, we are going to tryout elsewhere.

These costs are gross. Kids sports has been ruined. Meanwhile these clubs lie to you, keep their teams a secret during selection season so they can get that bag of money. “Your kid will have a chance to join our top team…I promise” and “We’ll get her a scholarship”. Meanwhile you pay the same on the 5th team as the top team. But hey…then you can tell your friends that you kid plays for “Stars” or “Surf” or “Scorpions”

This is ridiculous. ECNL and GA (other than at SSS) is less expensive. SSS is so expensive and definitely not worth it for NAL!

How much for other clubs in these leagues?

Does SSS have great coaching or resources/facilities? Why so expensive ?

Neither. They have customers willing to pay. They could charge double what they currently charge and wouldn’t lose many players. Rich people living through their kids

I disagree. I think they are at the top end of what people are willing to pay. We got the NAL offer and for the first time ever (multiple years are the club and more than one kid) considering either checking out other clubs or leaving club soccer. $5k before uniforms, camps, winter leagues and tournament travel is a lot for one kid.

Especially when there's 4 clubs that use the same facilities that are half the price. We've been at 3 different clubs across our kids over the years, select were by far the most expensive. They also offered one of the worst products, we hated the pools and our kid was never coached by her coach as he had 7 teams.

Good sales people and gullible parents.
