With BF leaving to go to Surf RI, does anyone here know if the 2011 team he coached will follow? Rumor has it they wanted to bring a large number of those girls to the ECNL club but I also heard they will follow him even if it is for a lesser league. My daughter plays for Surf and I’m wondering if she’s going to get bumped.

Several of the top players from the ECRL2 team are staying with the Scorpions and moving to National. NR was playing chess all alongComment

over to play GA
1) what does that say about the level of players at surf?
2) what’s that say about the level of GA when a 2nd/3rd level team jumps into that league?
I can’t imagine many players from surf staying if they are getting bumped for other players?Comment

That 2011 Scorpions team is dominating ECRL. The only reason why they are even playing at that level is because they wanted to stay together as a team at Scorpions. They came over with BF from Juventus DPL where they were the top team along with NE Surf Navy; both much better than RI Surf. The top NE Surf girls went to NEFC GA but BF’s team stayed together making them a very strong team that has played together for years. They are good enough to play GA or ECNL. If it’s true that this Scorpions team is moving to RI Surf with BF, then I would take your kid to Bayside if they want to be on GA.Comment

That’s my concern is that these families don’t want to play against ECNL teams and would rather play down in the GA which is weaker for sure, but if they want to play for BF that much rather than play against better teams in the ECNL and for the Scorpions coach then our kids on the RI Surf will get bumped.Originally posted by Guest View PostComment

I doubt any actual Scorpions parents are here to tell us that their 3rd tier team that dominates NE ECRL2 will move to RI and kick out the Surf RI girls.
I also doubt any actual Surf RI parents are here worrying that it will happen.Comment

That’s not correct. The only reason that team was the “3rd team” is they demanded to stay together when acquired and the plan was for Scorpions to add many of those girls to the National team which they are very much talented enough to do. They beat their ECNL team in scrimmages. If they choose to turn down ECNL offers and move down to the GA to continue to stay with BF, the 2011 top girls team at Surf will be bumped easily.
