Probably. Bayside 2011 girls have been a disaster since their coach gutted them and went to Scorpions a couple years ago and got a sweet bonus to pull a bunch of kids. Sounds like Scorpions overplayed their 2011 hand and lost a bunch back to Bayside. Scorpions top talent went to Surf and followed their coach (3rd team in 3 years so I wonder what club he’ll go to next year). 2nd tier talent went back to Bayside. Some good players stayed at Scorpions. The carousel of kids jumping continues with empty promises all over the place by these clubs.

What I don't understand is what kind of promises the club and coach could possibly make to get families to jump multiple times in a couple years. Can anyone explain what's worth this much churn for kids that aren't even in HS yet?

Amazing how much more educated parents have become in soccer now, yet how much more naive they have also become.

It’s not about the kids. It’s a couple of things. You’ve got moms and dads who think their kids are better than they are and when their kid gets 1 minute less playing time than they think they deserve they start to look around. When they arrive at ID Clinics and tryouts, these clubs see the opportunity to make more revenue. They then tell parents how good their kids are, get the kid excited, tell the parents “you can practice with our top team and have a chance to make it” (which is almost always a lie), then the next year when John and Jane are still stuck on the 3rd level team but paying the same $$ as the top teams, the cycle starts again and they fall for it again.

Find a coach that's good at what they do and is also a good person. You know they'll always do what's right for the team and for your player.

If next year your team is getting an ******* coach, then jump.
But if you have a good person for a doc, the likelihood of any ******* coaches in your club is very low.
There's a lot of smack against docs in this forum. But there are more good ones out there than bad.

We followed the club, the patch did it all wrong. Now we are following the right coach for our player and focused on player development. Was fun to be on a winning team but how the coach treats and develops your player is important for their growth. If your player seems invisible to the coach no matter how good the coach reputation, leave. Don’t waste money on a coach who doesn’t develop all the players especially your own! We made the mistake joining a top team with supposedly top coaching only to have a coach who was excellent with his favored players. Our player was never developed and went backwards.

Bayside is the clear underdog going into the next year first year in GA. They have an uphill battle. Coaching isn’t finalized although they have good coaches there especially on the boys side. They will bring in coaches and players. They won’t make it to playoffs year one or two. Maybe never but they are playing in a national league even if not as good as ECNL. It’s a good thing for RI players to have this option with Bayside and Surf to be able to train in state and compete out of state. Will these RI players go D1, probably not. But will some get to play in college? Absolutely. That’s the best any college bound player can ask for in New England. The younger kid parents are the ones here fueling which Stars or Scorpions or NEFC team is the best. They have hopes and dreams of their player being the next Alex Morgan. Take a step back. It’s about your kid enjoying the game, developing and playing at the highest level they can play. Keeping it local for RI kids is a good thing. What we need is for coaches to stop taking teams with them as they club hop. That’s not in the best interest of the players.

Agree with most of this. Keeping talent in RI was nearly impossible without ECNL or GA options. Now we have them and that will keep some from leaving. I mean why go to NEFC is there are GA opportunities in RI. If we can aggregate some talent in RI and bring souther MA kids or northern CT kids to our GA teams we might be able to compete.

Most top kids are running away from GA. NEFC is in panic mode and begging ECNL to take them back. GA will become a long distance NPL/DPL equivalent by this time next year.

They believe the hype the coach sells. BF obviously has a following if last year he got multiple teams to follow to Scorpions. This jump wasn’t quite as many as he was probably hoping but still some good players. Eventually the lure of moving from club to club to follow will end.
