Bayside GA vs RI Surf GA

Bayside suffered a major hit back a few years with RG taking the best players and heading to Scorpions. Some have returned to Bayside. The team needs to rebuild and patience for this group of youth athletes should be given. They have very dedicated coaches now and will bring along the talent they have while eventually gaining more. This year will be a tough start but they will improve with their coaches and be a competitor to Surf next year.

Small club that was not focused but now with GA the focus is more balanced. They will do fine.

I’m curious why someone starts a thread on Mass board about two RI clubs? Do you also post about the CT clubs like this? RI is a very small state with a small population. MA big club parents have no reason to even think about RI clubs never mind need to come here and put them down. I’m not a RI parent we are central MA. We know plenty of RI families though from when a bunch of us had a solid group of 2011s at NEFC. That team was great! So were the parents. We played year round and we stay in touch still. But some wanted ECNL, or a different club for different reasons Some of those players are with Bayside and they are good families. The 2010 at Bayside had a ton of movement and we know some of those families. All good people. No reason to trash the smaller RI clubs on a MA board. Surf and Bayside will
never have the number of college commits Stars and Select will have. They will never have as many teams per age group and they will never get ECNL. But I’ve seen some real talent come from that state and yes many of those talented players have moved over to Scorpions to chase ECNL pathway, but RI players are coached and raised by passionate people who love the game and have some of the best foot work and creativity in the field.

You’re saying a 6-0 game could have gone either way. GTFOH. Your chances were against second stringers who wouldn’t have had so much PT if it was a close game. You couldn’t cash in those chances against the subs and didn’t face the first string offense for a whole game. You’re right that the 6-0 doesn’t tell the whole story. A full game against NEFCs first string would have been a 10+ goal game. Now do you realize how far down the soccer pecking order RI Surf really is?
