Great post. You are 1000% correct!

Does this mean NAL is going to move the NY teams out and have a true "New England" conference? If that's true, it would be a stronger conference with less travel. The 3 programs being added are strong. For the 3 NY programs, Alleycats are pretty solid, but SDA and NY Rush have struggled, at least at some age groups.
Bolts south, seacoast Bedford and ifa west strengthen the Nal league. Nefc south addition is a joke.

Anyone know how the New England Conference is going shake out? Is it going to be a 13-team conference (9 current + Bolts SS, Seacoast Bedford, IFA West and CT Rush), will they move the NY teams out of the conference and have 10 teams, or will they split into 2 sub-conferences?

I missed NEFC South. Adjust as needed.

The ECNL/ECRL pom pom squad trying to put down NAL cracks me up. Probably a Stars director or some Stars girls parents. NAL just gobbled up pretty much every EDP program that had a decent program that wasn't already in NAL. It's an excellent 2nd tier league. The competition:travel ratio is good and if NY teams are out it will be excellent.

What decent clubs are left in the region who aren't in NAL? Maybe some age groups at WUP, LFC (they could just get folded into Seacoast), Aztec (another 3Step team), Mass City or RI Surf? As it is kids on those clubs all have NAL options nearby if they wanted to switch to NAL. NE Surf has some decent ages but they already chose the ECRL path. All in all its a very good grouping of clubs for a 2nd league. (Please ignore Valeo, we all do.)

is Seacoast Bedford also making a team in NAL? i thought it was just IFA West, Bolts South Shore, and NEFC South?

Have heard Bedford was moving too, but it isn't listed in any of the public press releases. Bedford is a good region and would add decent teams to NAL so no complaints, but I don't believe the rumors till I see something posted by the club or the league. Just that the rumor being out there and the NAL holding back on announcing the final makeup of the New England Conference muddies the waters a bit for now.

Seacoast girls GA2 teams are playing in the NAL. They posted the coaches lineup on FB.

Is it strange that NAL hasn't announced the final boys NE conference teams yet, or did I miss it? They've added 6 new clubs which would bring the conference to 15 total. Other conferences have 14, but I don't think any have 15. Adding 3 more and splitting into East and West divisions might be the best solution.

The goal should always be matched competition. That's why leagues exist, to create matches that will aid development.

Clearly you have no idea. Bolts ECNL last year was mid table or bottom half of the ECNL northeast. Now most of their teams are top of the table in NAL. Shows a clear drop off in overall league quality.

As for Bolts NAL and ECRL teams.

U19s edge NAL but pretty even match. Both have 5+ college commits
                        U17s edge NAL
                        U16s even with NAL
U15s ECRL even after losing players to MLS
U14s ECRL isn’t that close either
                        U13s NAL

[/QUOTELooking at the Scores from the NAL teams vs ECRL during Memorial weekend.

                        U14 Final - Bolts NAL 3-2 ECRL
                        U15 Final - Bolts NAL 3-1 ECRL
U16 Showcase Game - Bolts NAL 6-1 ECRL.

Does your biased opinion stay the same??

NAL has a good balance of competition and travel. A 15-team conference with 3 in NY, 2 in CT and another up in Bedford NH, would make travel a bigger issue. Competition would still be good as the added clubs generally have strong teams. Splitting into two divisions would keep an excellent balance of travel and comp. They'd need to pick up a few more clubs for the west division, but there are a few that are decent candidates.

The people trying to make a case for ECRL boys in this area are like the Japanese soldiers on remote islands still fighting the good fight years after WWII ended. No need to waste your time with their trolling.
