I have heard that Hillside is an option for their new headquarters. Hillside would be able to provide them office space and use of the facilities.

Hillside may be fine for offices, but if moving 3x/week practice to Hillside moves them into an entirely different region. They'll lose players to IFA, NEFC, Surf, Valeo and Scorpions depending on the individual players talent level and where they live. They obviously don't have time to build their own facility (which may be cost prohibitive near where they are now anyway), but if they can't get a contract to be able to set up camp at one of the local schools it could be ugly. And schools are all going to have their own field needs to prioritize. They do or did have some kind of arrangement at the Track at New Balance, but I don't see that being a suitable home base either.

What happened to the New Balance facility? Do they use it? Why isn’t that ideal?

The struggle is that they have to move an entire region. That entire region is going to be uprooted and currently there are no facilities available most club teams nowadays are squeezing the maximum number of teams on a field already this is going to cause huge disruption.
Plus you’re gonna have a lot of kids/parents that don’t want to travel unless they were able to find facilities in the current Mount Ida area.

They may still be using it, I don't know. IIRC though, it's set up as a track during track season and they roll out the turf in the offseason. It's also not ideal because instead of a sole-use facility not far off the highway in Newton, people have to drive in the Pike or wind their way through busy backroads to Brighton.
