NEFC wants to be sure they have easy RI diluted “GA” teams to beat so they are secured to make it to the national playoffs each year. It was a shady back room deal. The RI clubs and players have no idea that they have been used in a bigger scheme. They are celebrating they finally have a pathway in RI and think this will fix the leak of players to Scorpions and Select. It will only retain C level ECRL2 players from Scorpions. RI Surf might pick up a few town players and a few CT players. NEFC will not be affected by RI.

If a player from Providence was going to tryout for Bayside or RI Surf, which is the stronger of the two clubs?

Depends a little on the year, but overall RI Surf.

Club culture at Bayside is great if you are a loudmouth parent with a player who likes to try make up for her lack of skill with dirty play.

Not a fan of either as we have played both. Loud big mouth soccer dads at both. The Bayside club has good coaches. The problem is the good coaches focus on the boys. The girls are not the priority there. So due to that fact I would go with RI Surf.

What is a daddy coach? A professional coach who eventually has kids who play for them, or someone who has a good player who decides to become a coach.

Daddy who decides his travel team should be a club team and then steals another clubs region and then buys a franchise label to put on a uniform to make things sound legit.

GAs newest club Sporting United FC was ECRL before switching to GA.

Sporting Uniteds record isn't great but it's average for an ECRL team.

What this means is that now officially ECRL clubs are switching to GA. It will be interesting to see if more ECRL clubs switch to DPL or if a girls ECNL club switches to GA.

Either way this is going to put pressure on ECNL to move ECRL clubs up or they'll lose then to GA.

GA diluting itself does not put pressure on ECNL to dilute itself.

Have there been many (any?) promotions into ECNL of clubs that started out in ECRL?

The more common hops seem to be

GA -> ECNL (Select, Ukies, Nationals, Rush)
ECRL -> GA (Bayside, KCSG, Sporting United, Revolution)

Yes. A few over the past several years but not many. Google it.

Your hops are more common. ECNL demands sustained excellence for admittance. GA demands existence.

Does SSS def have at least 1 ECRL team?

It’s like GA is taking everyone to be in this National league but the College coaches don’t want to see all those weak teams play one another. They can go to a weekend and see top players at ECNL and send their assistant 20 min down the road to watch the ECRL teams. Watered down GA is going to turn off the scouts.
