Woman’s soccer is so low level in skill, as long as small girls put in the extra time (maybe 1 hour a week more), they could all displace taller players.

So which 5’1 kid is beating the 5’7 center back. Good luck with that. Won’t be her with speed, won’t beat her with size and strength. If you think your step over, scissors or elastico are beating her, lol good luck with that one.

Soccer is about changing direction (unfortunately the coaches don’t stress this enough). Your tall CB is going to struggle changing direction with my D and her tiny but quick stride.

Kante on men’s side is my D favorite player. He’s very small and light. And plays in the thick of the action.

Not OP. Your tiny D will need to take 3 steps for every 1 the tall CB takes. She's done.

These short players on the USWNT are unicorns. For every Lavelle or Dunn there are thousands who cannot adapt vs. taller more physical players. Soccer is about speed, quickness, soccer IQ and physicality. The taller athletic players have the advantage. BTW, college coaches stress this every time when asked what type of players they recruit. Unfortunately parents think differently.

Yep exactly. All my kid has to do is take one tall person step back and you are still in front of them. Oh snap! Wait not everyone dives in?

Kante is a CM…I guess he’s not really your favorite.

You can keep listing this for only 6 more months. You realize the award changes and not everyone is 5’3” and not everyone’s team won the WC. She rode coattails I’m afraid and won’t repeat.

                    100% true...

You might see what you think are smaller players playing from the stands. However when youre on the field you'll find out that the smaller players are normal sized and the ones you think are normal sized from the stands are huge.

It's the same effect people get when theyre up close with a basketball team in real life.

who will be the best player on that team over the next 5 years? Here’s a hint it’s a tall striker not the tiny who won the golden boot:

And since AT BEST the posters on here will see their kids play in college, not the NT, they need to understand the importance of size in college soccer. College coaches have plenty of players to chose from. Top programs have hundreds clamoring to play there. A smaller than average player needs to a true standout amongst sequoias.

Every USWNT player is a unicorn. Whether it be big, small, tall, thick, they all have unique skills. It’s undeniable that at youth levels bigger players have an advantage but that’s negated at the international level by the ultra quick and technical player. There aren’t many of those, hence….unicorn

Ever watch the US play Sweden in the Olympics? Sweden dominated the US physically. Watch the England v us friendly 1 year ago. Us got dominated by bigger stronger players. Keep dreaming if you think small fry’s can hang with bigger players
