This thread right here is a great example of what's wrong with youth soccer in America. This is the only country in the world where this crap even exists... multiple teams on multiple clubs on multiple leagues... unreal.

How about just find the team that offers your kid the best mix of competition and enjoyment and play for them? There is absolutely no need to play for multiple teams.

Playing on 2 makes sense for some ulittles who want to see if they are club material. Travel league schedules and club at say U11 isn’t too crazy yet. But usually a year is plenty and you'll know soon enough.

I would say have a purpose when playing at a lower level. Really try to work on certain skills and try to limit development of bad habits. As long as the town coach is cool with the situation and understands club comes first I don't see the issue.
Also it sends a bad message to town kids when a coach favors/makes allowances for club kids. If parents can't teach their kids about commitment and get them to both then they should either drop one or accept less PT. It isn't fair to the kids that show up all the time. Don't say "it's just town." Kids already get enough bad messaging these days. We let ours do both for a year or so and made it very clear missing had consequences (and the coach agreed, luckily). Eventually my kids went to club only then had a blast playing in HS with their friends again

We see town as a way to get additional practices and game time. Thankfully we have had excellent coaching and a very competitive team (for town) to play on. All but 2 of her teammates also play club. Everyone does their best for attendance, and since everyone misses, there are no consequences. The alternative is to scare away all of the club kids and have a lesser team. That team would have to drop down divisions. It would look exactly like our towns B or C teams. And since those teams already exist, nobody is being left out because of a spot taken by a club player. (We have an infinite number of teams D, E, F etc… Nobody gets turned away).

My child plays town (D1) and club (GA / ECNL) as well. They developed better from town than from club until recently. Not all club teams are better than all town teams.
If your child's town team is D1, don't give up the spot. Have her play both club and town. Attend practices when she can. Club should take priority.
I wouldn't do more than one club league. Just pick the team / league that practices closest to you AND the coach seems like a nice guy. Switch to ECNL / GA at U15 if she still wants to play soccer though gettting a spot at that time might be harder. But these teams always have spots for soccer studs.
