Yes. They sometimes say differently but better believe they are all going for the wins.

From my experience...Winning at the ECNL level gets you into better showcases/play offs/tournaments. I would say the better clubs (every area has a dominant club) spend more time developing who they have (they usually have the best anyway so it is easy).

I think the bottom half clubs have real problems... their best players know they should be playing at the dominant club... so these clubs rely on size rather than skill and are often a rotating door in terms of players, the coaches here have to focus their players on winning even if it means losing development opportunities.

Development is largely up to the player regardless. They have to put in the extra work off the club fields. The clubs provide coaching, the league provides competition and a recruiting platform

Ball Skills yes (won't happen without spending a lot of time on the ball)... but a club that teaches kick and run doesn't develop a holistic player that can play direct and possession at will.
