So, what if the players are OK with it and the coaches are OK with it, but potentially parents are not. Some players need a push, but some parents (as littered throughout this thread) can't handle their kids being pushed.

So disgusting how some of you want to treat women....I'd hoped we were past that. I'm no bleeding heart liberal, but you MAGAdiots give the rest of us a bad name.

Since you asked, this is how I sound right now:

tap tap tap tap space bar tap tap tap tap space bar space bar tap tap tap....
Wait. So you are insulting anyone who doesn’t agree with you as soft and needing hugs and using bubble wrap AND calling them MAGAdiots? Hmm.

Folks, we have a troll just looking to rile you up. Playing both sides of the coin trying to stir things up.

Good job, and I’m relieved. I actually believed there was a dbag running around thinking his unlikable beast of a kid was the sh!t. Lol! It’s TS so anything is possible I suppose.

Nope, everything I said is true. I support players holding each others accountable. I support coaches relying on players to police themselves. I support not belittling women just because they are women. I don't support special rules for women then for men.

My kid, while successful, is besides the point. It gave her credibility, and the coach supported it (against what I personally felt).

I don't support people making special rules for women, and I certainly don't belittling them just because of their sex.

So you talk like you have experience. Do you mentally push your kid after every practice? Before every game, after games? What’s a day without pushing your kid mentally? Just like your parents did with you?

Not sure I've every punished my kid mentally. I can't imagine a scenario where or why I would. What does that have to do with how players interact on the pitch?

You folks have lost the plot, seriously.

In fact, you’re trying to change the plot. The foundation of “mean girls” in soccer are the parents who allow their daughters to act in that way. That push them to act in an aggressive manner both physically and mentally. They know they can get away with it because they have the blessing of parents like yourself. I know for a fact of older players who were being recruited for college being “ghosted” by college coaches because of these mean girls reputations.

Nobody used the word punish until you did.

You literally made up a fake sin then scolded people for it. Lame.

Mean girls in soccer is nothing new. If your daughter can adapt, and figure out how to survive here, they will be fine in life. And if you think club is bad, just wait until college when playing time and money are really on the line.

I played middle school, high school and college. Middle school sucks at all levels. Bunch of brats. High school gets better as some of the spoiled brats are weeded out. College is the best. Loved it.

Agreed ages 12-14 or so are awful. HS gets better but it's still there.

In middle school, excelling at club soccer is one path to popularity for girls.

And popular girls are 100% the mean girls.
Not in our town. Field hockey and lacrosse girls are the popular girls.
