    Worcester Academy Girls Forfeits

So for anyone ignoring to salacious title of the other WA thread, Worcester Academy Girls Soccer forfeited its homecoming game against Miss Porters this past Saturday (https://www.worcesteracademy.org/tea...el=2023+-+2024). Additionally, their game against Choate this afternoon has been marked as cancelled on WA's website and marked as a 1-0 loss on Choate's website (https://www.choate.edu/athletics/tea...cs-team-id/260).

So what's the deal? I would imagine it would have to be something big for them to forfeit against two of their biggest Class A opponents.

Maybe someone from Choate will tell us what they were told since WA is being suspiciously quiet on the matter.

I don't know. A major Class A contender gets two losses against two of their best opponents affecting their ability to make the playoffs? Seems like at least a medium deal for those fighting for a playoff spot.

very interesting - if you look today at the WA site under the girls schedule the words forfeited were removed from the 9/29 game and today's 10/4 game. The word Forfeit was there yesterday.

The Hilltoppers had to forfeit Friday’s game against Miss Porter’s and Wednesday’s contest with Choate. Coach Jen Marino released this statement to New England Soccer Journal on Tuesday: “Due to unforeseen team dynamic concerns, Worcester Academy has made the decision to put a pause on our fall girls’ varsity soccer season. We are pointing towards a return to play on Saturday, Oct. 7.”

Because the WA admins have wisely chosen to admonish their students for unacceptable behavior. It was nothing to do with drinking or drugs. Every high school deals with this behavior all the time. I’m glad they are sending a message that it’s not acceptable. Anyone looking to sensationalize this, you don’t have to look any further than your own child’s school. I just hope the rest of the schools respond in the same way. Even at the expense of a playoff berth, treating fellow classmates with respect is more important.

Terrible behavior if true. Stinks for the girls not involved though.

Yep, there are always a couple of bad apples, but there are always a few on the fringes that don't agree with what is happening, but don't have the courage to step in. See something, say something and stick up for what is right is the lesson here. With all the scandals going on in college sports these days, it is good they learn this lesson early. I do feel bad for any girls completely unaware of what was happening.
