I tried a couple of times in the first half to stay with this game but just couldn't. Did anything positive come out of this?

It was unwatchable to me. I know it is an exhibition but a home game against Canada and we can't score?

Was brutal to watch, overall I think a couple of guys made the case to stick around as depth players, good thing our GI 's are getting busy with German woman or we wouldn't field a competitive team.
Maybe its time to build a base in Brazil:)

Great comment how about Spain as well? The last time I saw Germany play they had 6 guys starting who weren't German. The most notable ones were Gomez and Ozil.

No, everyone does not get a trophy. No, special ed students do not play with the top players. But if we teach them about the game instead of boot the ball ect. maybe we could have better players.

You can only teach the game to some degree. The game is the best teacher. That is the inherent problem with us soccer. In other countries they play and live the game for many hours everyday from when they can walk. Not the case in this country. Until we are proficient technically, no tactics will overcome the difference. But I do think it is improving in our younger age groups.

Doh! they may not be blonde blue eyed germans but they are both german of other ethic descent (Spanish and Turkish).

That's like saying Bocanegra and Altidore are not American.

Gomez was born and raised in Germany to a Spanish Father and a German Mother. Ozil was born in Germany and is a third generation German of Turkish descent. Both were born and raised in Germany. They are are German.

This was the B team Playing who have been B team players their whole careers and they are still being looked at for the national team? Why? Perhaps a worrying sign that there's no-one else good enough. A whole league and this is the best of the rest. Yikes!

Wht the heck would you play the B team a week before your World Cup qualyfier? Who is this going to help? They should have not played this game at all....

Why not play it? The coach just gave the B teamers a game. Maybe one of them will prove good enough to roster. Maybe not. It certainly doesn't hurt the A team for the B team to play.
