I don't know much about MA (non MLS) clubs in this respect. I hear that the top boys clubs in this area are Bolts, MPS, NEFC? My son is a U13.

U13 NEFC and Blazers have serious players (their sport focus is primarily soccer). They have excellent coaches who want to develop AND win. If you want a PDA or Matchfit-like club go with either NEFC U13 or Blazers U13. There will be a lot of back lash on this forum to what I have just said. It is not "conventional wisdom". Be forewarned that these are folks who have been largely brainwashed by the likes of Bradley and Ainscough (DOCs of these clubs)

Pre-backlash, would have to say I agree. My son is U14 and not with any of the clubs mentioned, but has played with or against a number of U13 players on these clubs. Bolts and MPS have definitely earned a "caveat emptor" warning in recent years -- price, expanding number of teams in the club, and coaching carousel are some of the reasons why.

They think they can win tournaments without any real pre-tournament training sessions - perfect example is the recent Regional Futsal tournament - both Bolts and MPS entered a team each with players from multiple teams- MPS had one training session one month prior to the tournament . Bolts had none. Both teams didn't do well and lost to no-name teams like "Black Knights" and Brazilian United.

The most significant one is the massive overgeneralization that is endemic to posts on this board (and just about everything else on the internet). The facts are that each of these clubs has kids who are more serious about soccer and kids who are less serious. Each has coaches who are good and coaches who are going through the motions. Which club is best for you is going to depend both upon which team (and coach) you get and how good a player your kid is. So, OP, depending on where you are located, you should check out all four of those clubs.
The second biggest problem, also endemic to these boards, is the massive arrogance. In this case, if someone disagrees with the poster, then that's just proof they've been brainwashed by PB or BA--and the poster knows this before even seeing what arguments have been made to counter his or hers!

NEFC and Blazers are both playing Region 1.
MPS is not playing Region 1 and they are out of State Cup!
Bolts U13 team is weak!

Which Bolts U13 team? PreAcademy or NEP. If you are interested in the Academy then try to get on the Bolts U13 PreAcademy team or somewhere near it. Once on the Bolts team, it is easier to stay on then to try again later.

I believe NEFC beat Bolts U13's 5-1 in August (Stars Cup) and beat them the other night 7-3 indoors playing 9v9.

I have seen all the teams play mentioned in this thread.
NEFC & Blazers are very close in level. Top teams for the most part in U13. Both playing Region 1 and both still in State Cup. Western United I would also mention in this group. Playing Region 1 as well.
Not going to bash a team, but Bolts level of play is not up to the Blazers and NEFC. Just being realistic. Bolts are also more money than those two clubs. MPS is on par with the Bolts as far as cost.
I will put it this way and you can make your own assumption. I have only seen and heard players from MPS and Bolts checking out other teams rather than players from Blazers, NEFC and Western United checking out other teams. That is a tell tale sign to me.
I would do the following. Check out teams you are logistically close to if driving is an issue. Then go to the website of those clubs and contact the coach to be part of a practice. The more you check out the better, but the season is fast approaching so don't wait. Many clubs are practicing now.
Good Luck!

Something else to perhaps consider is your child's birthday. Bolts and Revs organize age groups by calendar year, the others by school year (approximately).

Now that is a mouth-ful of side-lining commentary. It sounds more like you are not actively involved with any of these teams nor at these age groups.
1. The cost of the Bolts/MPS, when all is said and done, does not approach that of the Blazers with a fee of about 2800 (then purchase the uniforms after) and tournament travels to Florida, North Carolina, Arizona, and region 1, which, all considered, will bring you to about 10-12,000 dollars per year.....oh...did I mention the Okaroh camp?? I can't say anything about NEFC since I won't claim any knowledge of that club.
2. Former Bolts players who check out other clubs are either not interested in the Academy (or PreAcademy teams), did not make one of these teams, or were not playing too much on these teams. Regardless of what anyone might say, the competition in the PreAcademy and Academy leagues are excellent.
With that said, the training with Okaroh is very good and he is very serious and very geared to win, which means your little tot, if not a star, will not play too much.
I hear that NEFC is very organized with regard to training sessions, but is a large club with multiple facets and angles just like MPS.
