If it’s D1, she will work her butt off, not choose the best major, and will not play much.
What is "real D1 caliber soccer"?

Let’s say teams that make the tournament. Some of those aren’t but that’ll do.

Look at the top 25 soccer for the last 3-5 years. Those colleges in that group are top flight. Top teams from the ACC, Big Ten and PAC 12 are consistently high caliber teams.

Harvard and Brown have been on the fringe of that recently. PC and UConn are a step below that hoping to improve.

So then the remaining 250+ D1 soccer programs aren’t “real”? What are they?

What is a “best major”? Wouldn’t that be dependent on
the individual? If one had no desire to do anything STEM why should they care?

Yes students can excel in excellent academic situations in either D1 or D3. And can have a great social life and still play. Lots of variables will decide how hard it will be for them

That’s a good question, that’s for you to judge. Does academics matter or are they secondary to playing college soccer. Going into any new season the vast majority have no chance of winning their league championship or making the NCAA tournament so what are they to you?

They are D3 caliber teams masquerading as D1.

If you play for Stonehill or Iona, you are not really playing D1 caliber soccer.

Watched a premed major flame out at BU because early labs conflicted with AM practices. Good bye soccer.

D3 players know what they signed up for. You do not see D3 players (very few if any) enter the transfer portal. Unlike D1 the vast majority of college teams masquerading as high caliber relevant teams. Hundreds of disappointed D1 players who enter the transfer portal each year. Why is that?

Because a majority of “D1” recruits end up on the bench. Nearly half of those rosters are depth players, seldom used. Kids who were stars in youth soccer are unaccustomed to being bench warmers. Very stressful.

That makes no sense. You're defining "real D1 soccer" as the soccer played only by the top 10-15% of all D1 schools? Shouldn't "real D1 soccer" be defined by what the majority of D1 soccer programs are?

D1 Coaches carry circa 30 players. Early in the season they select 18 or so who will play. The others may only see action in garbage time. Even when injuries occur, the coach will play one of their 18 out of position over playing one of the last 12.,Most of those 12 would play on most D3’s.

Watch FSU play. Then Stonehill. Tell me that is remotely the same caliber. Like Stars Blue playing a town rec team.
