Our kid is a trapped 8th grader. I don’t want to start a fight. It is what it is and it’s not going to change. Since we live with it can people who have trapped 8th graders share plans for fall? We don’t have a middle school or town team that will be competitive.

Let them play in the non-competitive middle school or town teams for 2 months just for fun with their friends and don't worry about it. Then when their competitive team starts back up in November they will be fresh.

You don't always need to be playing competitive soccer. Have you child play middle school ball. Ask if they can play a different position then usual so they can learn deferent skills and responsibilities. This is the perfect chance to work on creativity and on learning the full game, but remember these games will be important to others on the team and they will be playing along side your child at the varsity level some day.

Add agility? 8th grader likely won’t be able to play on u14 town team either, same trapped problem for town players. Can you play on the JV?

If you live in an average-sized or bigger town with a separate middle school and high school, 8th graders won’t be allowed.

Try the club first. Then try other clubs that might allow her to at least practice with their younger players, maybe no games. Otherwise she'll have to practice on her own and at her age it's a good time to have her work with an athletic trainer to get good exercise habits and technique. She needs to stay in shape

The good news is that the sh*t show that is HS soccer goes by really fast... 8 weeks and it's all over. Youd kid will be reunited with teammates in no time.

You may be surprised at how the town team helps to have some kind of match coming up, both for fun and as a goal.
Different clubs and trainers offer clinics through the summer and fall. Mostly clubs or affiliated, but they are often open to players outside the club. Would need to know geography to show any examples.
This is a good age to learn how to practice on their own or with a few friends from town or club. Every serious club player needs to put in extra time on their own as well as the club training. Help them figure out drills that would be useful. There is a fair amount of useful info on the internet. What to do depends on their playing position.
In Dec/Jan indoor leagues start up. They are often done by town soccer programs. But teams generally can include players from other towns, since they are pretty informal. Maybe you can find a team to join.
Cross train in another sport. Anything of interest? Basketball? Lacrosse? Track?
Conditioning. Find out if their HS uses a fitness test, like the yo yo, in tryouts. (And find out from other parents more generally what the tryouts involve, so they can plan toward that as a goal over the next year.)
Weight training. If you have room and a few hundred dollars for a bench and weights, a bench for leg extensions/curls. Build up weight slowly. For example:
