    Is there ever team consistency

Here we are middle of May back in the Hunger Games of youth soccer. Is there ever a point that teams are more "settled" and every April/May doesn't mean half the team is replaced? Is high school more consistent or still just a constant churn?

Better the team playing in better the league the more consistent it will be.

First of all, any club pushing “player pools” will lack consistency. Teams are their weakest in terms of gelling and skill in September but they are also the most interested in team bonding. If coaches would take advantage in Aug and Sept of their teams desire to bond as well as the parents, they would be much stronger as a unit and may even retain more players who have ALL become friends. It will help with the cliques, mean girls who ended up being a leader, and would be inclusive of new families. Without putting in this work up front, right off the summer break, you’ll see by mid winter players out for themselves looking for a better situation.

ECNL and ECRL reams start entering preseason tournaments in August. They often travel a little and if they have a good team manager start of the year dinners, outings and so on are arranged. The best are the ones the coaches actually show up and
have fun. Nothing like rock climbing or mini golf with your coach, especially if you beat them! A team camping trip would be cool!

Jesus...I've seen more team managers torpedo a team, especially if the kid is a bottom level player and mommie needs to compensate for the fact

Now does this mini golf occur with the team or just your kid and the coach. Cause if I know you then it's a solo outing, and a huge issue

It does settle down a lot in HS. In MS it's the great funnel effect as top players move into higher leagues, other kids dropping out or making other moves for various reasons. By U16 you'll lose a player or two, gain one or two. That's it, if even that often.

I agree for the most part. I think you’ll always see some churn on the top teams. At the lower levels (DPL, NECSL, ECRL, Impact, etc…) any churn once you get to HS is losing top players to ECNL and GA. Or losing girls who “retire.”
