    GA2 vs ECRL

Okay just seeing all this GA 2 stuff and reading more here is what one club put on their socail media pg from Texas:

The GA2 is the level below the top tier, which is the Girls’ Academy (“GA”). The GA2 is designed to expand the player pool and provide a clear pathway for players who show the potential to make the jump to the GA level. GA2 implements a highly professional training environment and competitive model for aspiring GA players. Like the GA, the GA2 is a college soccer preparatory program.

Founded on the ideology of the GA program, the GA2 provides a development structure that focuses on playing more meaningful games, a professional game day environment, more training, high-level coaching, focus on developing the individual player, and great exposure in major college showcase events.

For the 2022/2023 season, the Dash GA2 teams will be competing in the U.S. Youth Soccer (“USYS”) Frontier Development League (“FDL”). By joining this league, the Dash are immediately eligible for the USYS South Texas State Championships and have the opportunity to compete and qualify for the USYS National League and USYS Regional Championships.

The Frontier Conference will include: Houston Dash (Houston); Dallas Texans (Dallas), FC Dallas (Dallas); DKSC (Dallas); Solar (Dallas), and Lonestar (Austin).

The US Youth Soccer Frontier Conference is excited to announce that teams competing in the Frontier Development League (FDL) will have a direct pathway into the USYS Southern Regional Championships.

My question is would you rather put your kid on GA2 team or an ECRL team if those were your options and your kid wasn’t ready for national. Pros and Cons?

GAG is basically a kick and chase league with 1 maybe 2 top players on a team so one would have to think that GAG2 would be a waste of time.

GA2. Another way for clubs to give false hope to players and parents while they laugh all the way to the bank.

GA2-GA Rising this is supposed to be equivalent to ECRL… It will be weaker. But, it will create more consolidation.
The best path, ECRL(regional) to-ECNL (national). (Stars, Scorpions)
The second best path, GA2 (regional), GA national (NEFC, Select)

Impact and DPL will fade away.
NECSL will be where most end up.

So the top 4 clubs will be where all talent lands as everyone else ends up in NECSL.

Girls Academy League gives our players a greater platform, with increased opportunities for player development and collegiate exposure, and best aligns with the core values of our organization.

You might want to watch some GA teams, vastly superior to some so called National teams.Superior talent and coaching, sorry ECNL Dad

              4. Scorpions

It is getting re-god-dam-diculous. All this consolidation under umbrellas isn't necessarily good for the consumer

I agree, lack of options or better yet competition between clubs only impacts the consumer ie the kids. Say what you want but Juventus was a good option out of Taunton befofe ehy folded. Now it's really one one club out there.

ECRL is a joke… no one can claim that this has remotely decent teams.

DPL in NE is generally good, but 4-5 clubs moving to GA Rising will really affect the overall level. In the mean time Surf NE ( GPS ) find themselves without anywhere to go.

Not a Surf parent, new to club soccer in the last year. But why can't surf get into a higher league than DPL? Is it because they lack their own fields?

It’s because they’ve only existed for 2 years.

Wrong. But I get it Surf DPL dad. Put down ECRL to build yourselves up. Ok.

It’s because Surf are really GPS.. no other explanation should be needed.
