    2024 Commits

Is it normal for 2024 girl soccer players to still be deciding on Division 1 playing options? Has the window closed? If you are talking to coaches will these conversations start to have an offer involved? I still see so many girls uncommitted is this the normal time frame. Need advice from parents who have gone through this. Thanks

Not optimal, but not unusual either. I know 2023's who were committed into their summer and at least one late fall. My D's team just had one commit for 2023 over the last couple of months.

    It's usually tiered:

June - the top of the list candidates
June through early Spring - a majority; they are looked at after colleges have success/failures in the first list
Spring through fall - The rest. Some opportunities will still come to fruition and some will have success in college.

That being said, choices are harder to come by each and every day.

For a 2024 commit? You mean they are offering top tier candidates in the summer before their junior year?

Yes you can get a verbal offer as of 6/15 after sophomore year. It will be like 15 months before they officially sign.

Kind of….You can be in contact with coaches on 6/15 but official visits don’t start until after July, and most likely will be done when school is in session. Less than a handful will commit in June, most top tier players will give a verbal sometime during Fall of their junior season. It’s not easy to juggle official visits with at home responsibilities but it’s a critical part of the process. Timing with visits is also crucial as offers are being given and can sometimes be first come, first serve.

Kids can’t have contact w coaches until 6/15 after sophomore year, but college coaches will let a club coach know of their interest before that. Then the club coach lets the kid know.

You don't sign your NLI until Nov of your senior year. It's all verbal until then. Coaches rarely pull offers but it can happen. It also gives the athlete an out (but it better be for a dam good reason like the coach your interviewed with is leaving)
