What Surf does well is aggregate kids from their various regions and consolidate them on to one top team. This team attracts attention and gets transfers in from the other NECSL type clubs. Then they give them a fairly convenient location to train. It’s all about the quantity of kids they have access to and the convenience. At that volume, they end up with some good to great kids. The coaching seems adequate so they help develop them somewhat but most of it at that age is driven by what the kid does outside of club practice. Surf just attracts more of those driven kids right now. Once they hit middle school, they are looking to move on to clubs with higher level options. The great ones will be impact players at that level, the good ones may not but they leave anyway because they see the great kids leaving and don’t want to be left behind. -

Surf u littles girls parents from RI have tried to prove relevance by posting here. Go back to RI where your teams are big fish in a very small pond. Your best athletes come to MA teams such as NEFC and Scorpions by age 12. Anyone who keeps playing in RI never gets to see real competition and are usually trained poorly by dads not real coaches.Comment
